And because she cursed him by wiping out his memories. There is that. So she never really had to convince Henry at all. This is way worse than I imagined. I thought Henry might run away from both Regina and Emma but now I think he is going to be more passive, which also makes him vulnerable to GOAT. Regina, honestly…

This went pretty much like I thought it would seems to me she is taking a page out of Cora’s bag of tricks once again using her mothers spell book on Henry this time trying to wipe his memory of what she plans to do as I recall she used the same spell out of that book to trap Henry with the tree limbs when he tried to escape from her in episode 2×02

It was in the spell book that is what she used to jump start her magic in 2×02 We Are Both. It was also the same spell Cora used on her to prevent her from leaving.
I think it’s pretty clear now that GOAT & Hook take the magic beans from Regina. I look for Regina to double cross Hook and for Hook to double cross Regina & GOAT before GOAT can double cross him. I think Emma & Neal, along with Rumple and Snow and David will break Regina’s spell on Henry and form an uneasy alliance with Hook to stop Regina and GOAT

Man, oh man! What if GOAT gets Regina’s spell book, too? Then if Tamara steals Regina’s magical ability, Tamara might even be able to cast spells herself. 😕

Would Rumple know a counter-spell to restore Henry’s memories? Cora’s spell book might contain spells even Rumple doesn’t know.

Maybe the spell didn’t work on Henry or maybe Emma see Regina doing this and walks up in the middle of it ❓
I think that Tamara/Greg needed Hook for his ship only, but get the beans instead after shocking Regina so they ditch Hook because they don’t need him now.
In regards to Regina perhaps her deal was the same thing using the beans but plays Hook telling him how she can get rid of everyone including Gold with her plan but forgets to tell him that she will be getting rid of him too at the same time. 😉

I’m still freaked out by Regina. Even more so now. I love Henry in this scene. Poor kid.

In the clip it looked like Regina was already done casting the spell on Henry. She waved her hand in front of his face. His eyes went glazed. Regina was tucking the spellbook away. There is the chance that Emma could walk up next, but most likely she’d just be angry at Regina for being around Henry without knowing what Regina had just done. It went really fast.
So I find that I’m really confused about this failsafe. What is it, exactly? Did Rumple write it into the Curse. Did Regina adapt the Curse with this fail safe?

Though the spoilers that reference a dragon do have me thinking it could be tied to letting Malificient loose …though that's probably stretching it.
