Tonight my friends and I were speculating about The Queen is Dead. Two things I’ve heard about it, as you guys know, Snow White wasn’t always Snow White, and her mother has a surprising connection to someone else. We had a theory, and until I’m proven wrong, I’m pretty convinced of this.
We think that Snow’s mother and Cora are sisters. To be exact, the sisters from the story Snow White and Rose Red. (Remember the Snow White from that story is not the same character from The Glass Coffin.) The story, from what I remember of it, the sisters save a bear who turns out to be a prince and marries Snow White.
So what I’m thinking is Snow’s mother married the king, became queen, and leaves her sister in the dust. And Cora, consumed with jealousy, kills her and sets out to put her daughter on the throne instead of the young Snow. Perhaps Snow’s name wasn’t Snow White in the beginning, and they’re meaning that her mother was the original Snow White. Am I making sense? Lol.
[adrotate group="5"]Cora’s alter ego, the Queen of Hearts, is also largely associated with red. If Cora is Rose Red, this would make sense.
They’ve already done the story of Snow White and Rose Red. It’s Snow and Red. That’s why Snow said they are like sisters. Rose Red was good as well and nothing like Cora.

Yeah I read the story and doesn’t Rose Red married one of the prince’s brothers or another prince?

Yes, they took care of an sick bear who turned out to be a prince cursed by an evil dwarf. Bear eventually kills dwarf, back to his real self, marries Snow and his other brother marries Red and they live happily ever after 🙂
We saw the story in Henry’s book a few times last year. The tight bond between Snow White and Red is a nod to that story.

I’ve always just figured that Snow and Red’s sisterly bond was their way of acknowledging the story of Snow White and Rose Red. Mind you, the Onceiverse has mother and daughter Sleeping Beauties, so there’s no reason why there couldn’t also be mother and daughter Snow Whites.
I’ve entertained the idea before that Eva and Cora could have been sisters. If, as many have speculated, Cora is the one who killed Snow’s mother, there’s gotta be some reason for that, and the jealous sister angle could work quite nicely.
Cora and Eva- sisters. This is also what I believe.
It is true that the Snow white and Rose red story also is shown in Snow and Rubys friendship, but that doesn’t mean they can’t have another go at it. Ruby is a side character in the show and her story is not one that drives the overall plot of the show, so I just don’t think that is going to be it. the fairytale Snow white and Rose red will have much more meaning to the overall plot, of why the curse happened and how to undoo it, because it is one of only two fairytales that we ever see any text from in Henrys book.
Snow, Eva and Cora on the other hand are very central to this.I don’t think Cora and Eva are sisters. I think the Cora holds a lot of anger and resentment as she and Henry lost their kingdom. She is now determined to put her daughter Reggie on the throne and Eva is just an obstacle that needs to be removed.

Could also be that they are not sisters but were friends, or some kind of relation, that would link their story to ‘Snow White and Rose Red’. But I hope the writers chose to make them sisters, that would make it more interesting, in my opinion, if they ended in a big fall out with eachother wich resulted in Evas death.
