It’s been speculated that Hook stole Rumple’s first wife so it would make sense if he then went after Belle as well. What if Hook arranged for Smee to “kidnap” Belle then “disturbs” the kidnapping attempt in order to make himself appear to be Belle’s knight in shining armour. Rumple would be suspicious of Hook and not trust him and Belle would think Rumple is just being overprotective.

Keeper of FelixThat is an interesting idea Priceofmagic. Though, like you said, it is all speculation that Hook took Belle’s first wife as well. We don’t even know when the flashbacks of this episode take place. That would, of course, then bring a connection to the two timelines which there always is a connection. The wife could leave and Belle could stay. I have never really liked the theory that this character from the fairytale land parts was Rumpel’s first wife though. The description never sounded quite right for that to me.

I reckon the stuff about him having the manners of a gentleman will likely have something to do with him trying to win Belle over, purely as a means to torment Rumple. If Hook sweet talked Rumple’s wife away from him in the past, then he’d know it’d cut DEEP if he did it AGAIN. So if he wants to destroy Rumple, that would be the perfect way to go about it.

Ummm, if smilies bother you that much, you can go into your user control panel – board preferences – edit display options, and select to not display them.
Rumple could have a “hand” in the crocodile and Hook as a means of revenge for whatever Hook did to him in the first place 😆
Interesting spoilers. I think Belle is going to become the victim of Hook’s obsession with Rumpel. We already know that these two have a history together, and many believe that Hook is the man who stole Rumpel’s first wife. So, I in order to “rub it in his face,” I think Hook is going to taunt Mr. Gold by kidnapping Belle. It’ll probably bring back all those terrible memories of when Rumpel’s wife left him for Hook. Of course, this will be different. Rumpel’s wife probably went with Hook on her own accord, while Belle will probably have to be kidnapped.
This is episode is going to be so sad. 😥
It appears that Belle is kidnapped by Smee. I’m not sure why he would do that, but I think it has something to do with Hook. Whatever’s going on in Storbrooke will most likely mirror what happened between Rumpel and Hook back in Fairytale land.
