Ok, let’s drop the zoophile topic altogether please. I think it was a really bad example and is only going to lead to a lot of issues.

Is that true though? She seemed pretty happy to be back. I guess the writers realised she was a big part of what made the show work. We’re supposed to be getting a lot more of her in S4?

There was an interview with back late S2/early S3 where she wasn’t getting work during S2 and she called A and E and asked what as going on and if she needed to start hunting around for new work, and they told her yes because plans changed.

Comparing homosexuality to zoophilia in any way is insulting, please don’t do it. “

I just said I wasn’t comparing the two. Go back and read the original comment. All I said was Regina could be a zoophile and the charmings could be swingers. Never made a comparison.

. No, you’re just mocking us now. Stop with the slippery slope fallacy/false equivalences, please

    I’m not mocking you.

And don’t apologise for other people “feeling offended”, apologise for your part in hurting them.

I didn’t mock you or offend you. I just gave another alternative possibility that is just as valid as Regina being queer. It wasn’t meant to compare anything or offend. So yes, if you got offended by it, I’m sorry, but the point I made was valid.

I already said I was dropping the point a few posts back so we don’t have to continue talking about it.

    Redirection of thread:

More LGBTQ couples you’d like to see on ONCE, using characters already established or not established–Disney or otherwise. Also, what sort of stories would you write for them?

I actually liked the earlier suggestions of making Hercules gay, with possibly pairing him with a human version of Philoctetes. I just want Hercules on the show, period.

Hercules gay would be kind of fitting. I kind of want them to do Megara though, and I sort of don’t want Megara to be a dude, it doesn’t work. What if Hercules was a girl? That would be a pretty impressive flip.

Hercules….gay??? Woah…..okkkkk then! What about Megara? (whispers, how about Pocahontas instead since the whole John Smith thing didn’t work out?)

It would be very very hard for ONCE to bring Pocahontas to the show in a believable way because Pocahontas a real life person with a very traceable historical record. Mulan is largely mythic and there may or may not have been a historical Mulan.

But the general idea is a good one.

Yep. I would think incorporating her into the show like that would risk upsetting her living descendants. There’s a fine line between purely fictional characters and historical figures. Even Mulan was pushing it, but there’s more ambiguity behind whether she was real or not compared to Pocahontas. Actually, if they were to dare risk incorporating Pocahontas, they would have done so in Neverland, but they opted to not show Neverland’s Native Americans at all. The Native Americans in Peter Pan are actually seen as very politically incorrect these days, so not having them at all might have been to save face.
