I suggested it last week but now I really want at least SOME romantic tension between Hook and Emma. After all Snow and Charming fell in love during a quest to retrieve David’s mother’s ring back from trolls why can Emma and Hook fall for each other over a quest to find a magic compass? The trouble that can ensue is just so intriguing from CaptainEmma… 😕 na that’s no good, KilliaSwan? 🙁 Um…. SwanHook? 😯 I’m no good at thinking about shipping nicknames but anyway if Henry’s father is actually Bae who is also Peter Pan and then just the fact that one of the key heroes is with one the main villains there’s just so many fun things to go with. Imagine Snow’s reaction or David’s? How bout Henry’s reaction to his dad being Peter Pan and his mother being in love with Captain Hook?!

Hook is very attractive, and I like the actor so far, but I don’t really sense any chemistry yet between him and any ladies. He had okay chemistry with Milah, but I bought it more from her end then from him.
With the four ladies in The Doctor, I didn’t sense any chemistry at all with any of them, even Emma whom he interacted with the most. Maybe it will happen later, but tonight I saw nothing.
With him and Cora, I guess it’s probably not his fault he didn’t seem interested in Cora even though she certainly seemed interested in him, unless they do have them be something more than just partners in crime together. So I guess I’ll reserve judgment until I see them interact more.
Overall, I have to say that I’m sort of disappointed in Captain Hook, at least villain wise. He’s not even as “bad” to me as Jefferson is right now. Sure he let Cora kill all those villagers, but it was off screen. Other than that, I’m finding him boring as a villain or even anti-hero although very hot to look at. I just hope that they make him a little bit more bite.

To me he’s playing more as an anti-hero that promo really gave the wrong impression. So you ship SwanFire? That’s cool from that prospective just think of the many fun possibilities if Bae is also Peter Pan and there’s a love triangle between Bae, Hook and Emma. I think there is some chemistry there but we’ll see more of it this next episode, the idea of Emma and Hook going and facing a giant together at least raises the possibility of something going on between them.
October 29, 2012 at 5:08 am #158362JosephineParticipantI think they’re going to try Emma and Hook as love interests. Or at least he’s the one trying to hit on her, but like Bee, I’m not feeling the Hook vibes. Maybe it’s because he wants to go after my dear Rumple, but I’m not lusting after him or shipping him with anyone yet.
I’m a Swanfire, fan, too, even though I don’t expect anything at all to happen between them anytime soon. They have too many problems and secrets between them, assuming he’s Henry’s father. So I do think Emma will be paired with someone else this season. My problem is, like Bee, I won’t root for anyone she’s with until it’s Baelfire. I really wasn’t even a fan of Graham/Emma and that lasted a whole three seconds.
That said, I do think Hook and Emma will have something going on. The problem with this show is we’re so used to the pairings all being “true love” that it would be interesting to see a couple together that aren’t destined for each other. Besides Whale’s brief hookup with Mary Margaret and David’s fake marriage to Katherine, we really haven’t seen non-soulmates together.

Emma will have an attraction to and/or a fling with one or two others before SwanFire happens, and I can totally see one of those flirtations being with Hook.
October 29, 2012 at 8:43 am #158376surayyaParticipantThey already said Emma will have a number of suitors who will pursue her Personally I like the idea that Hook ‘falls’ for Emma a little (cant see him being her true love, as they’ll probably want Emma to play happy families with Henry’s father etc), but I think it will be fun to see how that works out given he is hell bent of taking Rumple down, ie will he truly fall for Emma & then have to temper/consider his revenge, how that will effect his ‘deal’ with Cora etc
I like the possibilities personally 😉It’d be darn boring & a whole lot harder to move Emma forward as a character emotionally from where she is, if she doesn’t have a few serious ‘adult’ relationships before Henry’s dad comes onto the scene! At least that’s my opinion 😉
October 29, 2012 at 11:38 am #158383melliemdParticipantI don’t see Swan/Hook because I think Hook truly loved Milha and is driven completely by that love and the revenge he wants to exact. I think if Emma/Hook happened, it would be his way of manipulating her.
October 29, 2012 at 11:55 am #158387lilredParticipantI’m a Swanfire fan too – but I’m all for Emma dating around for awhile. But, I think it would be more effective for her growth, if she dated a stable adult male. Apparently very hard to find in Storybrooke and FTL but she needs to try having an adult relationship with someone who’s worked their issues out. Hook still has a lot of issues and (although we haven’t seen evidence yet on the show) has some pretty BIG issues to work through about children – let alone a vendetta to kill rooted in a lost love.
Again even though we haven’t actually seen it on the show, I am working under the assumption that he and Milha were very much in love if not each other’s true loves. The pain hasn’t seem to lessen after centuries for him – not saying he doesn’t have a chance of meeting someone new along the seasons to come but he has a ways to go before fans can start shipping him with anyone with/around children.

I completely agree with this. I see him trying to get close to Emma for his own gain, the deal with Cora to get to Storybrooke. I think the way he will play Emma at the end of this episode (i.e con her) will be the reflection of how mystery man( Neal cassady) plays her/leaves her to take the rap in the flashbacks. Just my theory, but we see so often the flashback story line reflecting in the present time story line.
October 29, 2012 at 12:08 pm #158393melliemdParticipantYes, I can definitely see that, Fairy! They always compare the two, either in a difference in the two, or in a similarity of the two. So the most likely for Tallahassee will be a similarity… And either Emma will make the same mistake or (more likely) she’ll lead Hook on and then catch him when his blinders are on.
