I’m fully expecting to have a soft spot for MRJ’s character, but haven’t seen enough of him yet to make my crush official.

I don’t think Hook’s omission supports the idea that Hook wants to use Emma romantically, since I don’t think he had any romantic notion towards Emma at their first encounter. Yes, his underlying reason to wanting to visit SB is to avenge Milha’s death by killing Rumpel, but that’s a highly personal thing to divulge to someone who’s interrogating you and as you’re facing being torn limb from limb by an ogre. Hook is a cunning pirate, and he’s not going to divulge his vulnerabilities about loving someone to Emma and her gang when they’re threatening his life. He wants to come across as a man who is in control and uses anger over a lost hand as motivation. He’s not going to be all soppy and tenderhearted while being interrogated. He’s going to say just enough to get them to spare his life.
Agreed. I didn’t have any issue with how he did or didn’t act, he was pretty much as expected at this stage IMO. If he does end up developing a flirtatious relationship with her, I think it’ll be because he’s attracted to her feisty nature and the fact that she challenges him.

1) Guy liner on a swaggering pirate
2) Claimed to be a blacksmith but is really a pirate (Will Turner from PotC)
3) Flirts with Emma SWAN (Elizabeth Swan in PotC)But no, I think Hook is motivated by revenge over his hand at this point and is using Emma as a means to an end. I’m a SwanFire gal (which is just…so crazy as we’ve never seen them together at all. Bless these writers)

Hook will flirt, but that’s as far as it’ll go. Emma is quick to pull a blade on a guy. The girl doen’t mess around. π―

Emma is such a strong person that she can handle Hook on any level. As far as Emma pulling the knife on him well hey he’s a pirate! He could take that foreplay π Anyway the mirroring between meeting Henry’s father and going on this journey with Hook is the one we’ll all look to first but I’m hoping it’ll also mirror the journey her parents took when they first met. So I hope it’s at least explored a little.
October 29, 2012 at 8:19 pm #158540elleParticipantI didn’t sense any sexual/romantic tension between the two of them, personally. And sorry if that does offend, but he didn’t seem the least interested in Emma, other than the fact that she is a possible key to bringing him to Storybrooke. π He has his sight set on revenge–both for Milah and for his hand. He may not have mentioned her, but I think that is mostly due to this being a personal matter, and nor would he want any of the four women to know his full story. Just the bits and pieces.
I can see Captain Hook flirting with her, but most likely in a joking manner, or in a way to distract and disgust her, so that she does not pay attention when he tries to double-cross her.
Also, I can’t help but feel bad for Henry if Rumpelstiltskin is his grandfather–he already has Regina, who may or may not succeed in her path of redemption, to deal with. Kinda hoping that Baelfire is not the father.

Yeah, kind of shocked he didn’t try to use sex appeal or flattery on the princesses last night -especially Aurora who seemed like the easiest target. Really the only indication that he was/is a lady’s man would be him boasting that ‘he’s slept with many a man’s wife’ – And I’m willing to bet that’s just him talking and trying to seem manly in front of his crew (and intimidate Rumple further). Maybe Milha was the rare case – she did claim to fall in love with his stories in one night. Maybe Hook is really just a great story-teller: ALL talk…at least about his sexual life. π
That could be true about him being all talk, but it’s sort of disappointing because Rumple, Regina, and dare I say even Cora in her brief scene with Hook, don’t seem so asexual. I mean he’s not totally that way, but definitely expected him to use his charisma and charm more, but not seeing it yet. I know it’s only been two episodes and I do like the actor so far just not as Hook. If he were just Killian Jones, I wouldn’t have a problem, but as Hook, there’s something lacking right now.
I actually would have been okay with Emma/Hook, at least as flirtatious thing, had they shown any spark last night, but since they didn’t, imo, I’m not really a fan of them trying to force anything. Yes, I know that she didn’t trust him, and he was trying to lie to her, but even then the love/hate type of relationship is always suppose to have passion from both sides from the start, and they had none. I mean I don’t ever see SwanQueen happening and certainly would never ship it, but I can’t deny that right away that the actors had a spark in their scenes, that I just didn’t see at all between Emma and Hook.
I also totally agree though that if he knew he wasn’t going to be able to use his charms on Emma, Snow, and Mulan, I really thought he was going to try to do so to Aurora since she actually believed him. Maybe if they would have gave that part of the show more time last night they would have, but I can’t believe they didn’t have him trying to seduce/charm her into letting him go or doing something that the other three wouldn’t have fallen for.

Iβm ok with the strange family relations that will arise from Baelfire possibly being Henryβs father. But to be fair, I usually gravitate towards the more disturbing storylines on any show, so Iβm not sure if Iβm a good enough judge on this matter. π

We didn’t get to see very much interaction between them just what two scenes? Not saying it’ll happen just that it would be fun to explore. Since they’re going into this situation together there’s a possibility of maybe something happening there. What if Hook saves Emma from the Giant? Or later on saves them from Cora? A lot of ways this can go… I’d expect at the very least some flirting what’s the fun of having a heroine go up a beanstalk with a charming swashbuckler if there wasn’t at least some of that? π

October 30, 2012 at 12:33 am #158572elleParticipantTrue she only had two scenes with Captain Hook, but with other characters, there was always a form of chemistry that quickly occured. With this, she seemed just wary and ready to kill him if he tried anything dangerous. And he seems pretty intent on revenge–it is probably all he has thought about for centuries. The most I can say about his feelings towards her was that perhaps he was impressed with how she was able to quickly intimidate him and recongnize him for lying. π
