We didn’t see enough of Hook/Emma to really judge if there was chemistry – they were barely introduced to each other. I’m guessing there will be chemistry…and soon. As for SwanFire…I wouldn’t put it past the writers to create a love triangle, very similar to what they did in Lost. How many times did Kate swing back and forth from Jack to Sawyer? I can see Emma starting some sort of “relationship” with Hook this season, only to run into Bae (at the end of the season?) and throw us all for a loop. It will definitely get interesting romantic-wise, but I don’t think Emma’s love story will be as straightforward as her parents’.
I didn’t watch much of Lost but I remember that part. If they were going to go for that angle here playing a love triangle between Peter Pan, Emma and Captain Hook would really fit well. Obliviously it’s hard to really play the will they won’t they with Prince Charming and Snow White but with Emma there’s a lot of opportunity to play around with love interests.

But we haven’t even seen him do anything really wrong, I’m really not convinced of how evil he is so far.
I agree with you 100% there & it’s why I think Emma & Hook having a ‘thing’ will be interesting 😉
I am really starting to wonder if Hook’s evil will more turn out to be his all consuming need for revenge on Rumple- which in my eyes really doesn’t make him any worse than Rumple 😉
In fact at this stage, I think it actually makes him less a bad guy than Rumple since Hook’s ‘code of honour’ has meant he doesn’t kill those who wont fight him (ie. he didn’t just kill a crippled Rumple when he went to get his wife that 1st time, yet Rumple has killed people for simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time).I do think Hook is/was a bully (Rumple in the alley proves that) & is considered a ‘dangerous’ man (a given considering his line of work), but we’ve yet to see an act of true evil.
I think the fact that Emma is such a strong women that knows when he’s lying & when he’s not & actually will call him out on it, is exactly what will draw him to her- whether he wants to be or not, as I cant see him having had anyone call him out on his actions or see through his façades in quite sometime 😉
I personally LOVE the complexity H&K have brought to this (extremely hot! 😉 ) version of Hook 😀

From Matt’s Inside Line
I’m absolutely loving the addition of Killian Jones (aka Captain Hook) to Once Upon a Time. Do you have scoop on what’s next for our favorite TV pirate? Any romance in the air, or is it all revenge-y stuff? –StefYes, revenge is important to Hook. But I am told the eyeliner-lovin’ swashbuckler might also develop a soft spot for a certain blonde in a leather jacket.

http://tvline.com/2012/11/01/castle-once-upon-time-haven-spoilers/YES! SwanHook! I’m thinking there’s gonna be a scenario where Hook has to make a noble choice and save Emma in some way. This is gonna be fun!
November 5, 2012 at 5:37 am #159533becParticipantI posted this somewhere else but i’ll post it here too. I think there definately will be a love triangle between Hook, Emma and Neal. Emma is falling for Hook which is evident in her face after she chains Hook up, but shes scared of those feelings for him. A lot of people are saying that their ship has ‘sunk’, but I think it has made it stronger more than anything. Hook will want to prove himself to Emma, and in e9 he will most likely double cross Cora for Emma… I also don’t think he likes Cora very much.
It will be interesting when Neal turns up if Hook and Emma act on their feelings…Also, it can be a coincidence that Emma’s memories/feelings of Neal turned up. Something must have triggered it..
November 5, 2012 at 5:57 am #159539becParticipantI’m going to be waiting for the famous line ‘I will find you’ from Hook 🙂 . I just realised though that this is similar to how Charming and Snow started. they weren;t exactly friends at first but they soon grew on each other… like mother like daughter
I might be reading too much into this but Emma and Hook both have a tattoo in the same place and (im guessing Emmas is about Neal) they both symbolise their lost loveNovember 5, 2012 at 6:15 am #159542JosephineParticipant@bec wrote:

Snow met Charming while stealing something from him. Emma met Neal while stealing something from him, although in Neal’s case he’d stolen it from someone else.
I do think they’re going to do Emma and Hook. At this point, I think it’s inevitable, however, I think Swanfire is endgame. Emma kept the car, despite all that happened. I think that is telling. But I think things are going to get a lot worse for them before they ever get better. Probably won’t even happen this season. They’ve both got major issues to work through and Henry will be caught in the middle. It’s not going to be pretty, but it will be interesting.
Keeper of Rumplestiltskin's and Neal's spears and war paint and crystal ball.

I guess I’m the opposite because while they did flirt and banter more this episode, I think the ending effectively sunk any chance of CaptainSwan, not that I thought it would go beyond flirting and bantering anyways because of Hook being in cahoots with Cora. Yes, maybe he was telling the truth about helping out Emma and Company if she got the compass first, but I for one didn’t believe him, and was proud that Emma did the right thing in not trusting him. It doesn’t matter now because I think Emma is now on Hook’s list of people to get revenge against.
Plus, I saw parallels between Milah/Hook and Emma/Bae, so I’m not sure if they would set up a true love triangle between Bae/Emma/Hook. Of course, Milah/Hook and Emma/Bae are partners in crime, but what really got to me was showing the depths of the true love that these pairings have/had. In “The Crocodile”, I wasn’t really sure about Hook’s feelings for Milah. I think he did love her, but it seemed like she loved him more than her. However, after tonight I do believe that they were each other’s true loves.
I guess that’s the main reason that Hook/Emma doesn’t work for me because it can’t really work as a fling because Hook is working for Cora, and Emma isn’t that kind of character. It can’t work as true love because they both already have a true love. So I can’t really get invested in the possibility even if I did think they have chemistry, which unfortunately I do not.

I don’t see that, I think this episode just opened the door. I think Hook wasn’t in the wrong at all this episode. I don’t think he was lying at any point I think he’d rather have stayed with with Emma and her group than have to return to Cora. I don’t think it was that he was working for Cora I think it’s that Cora was the only way he can get to Rumple and really I that was his only priority. I think he was starting feel something for Emma and Emma was starting to feel something for him but she simply shut down again. Rather than take a chance that he was being sincere ,before he got close enough to her emotionally she trapped him and left him like her mamma told her before about that wall she puts up. It was really sad to see actually what her experience with Neal led her to do to Hook when she felt herself getting close to him. I really hope Hook shows up for Emma in the end, the worst thing is that Hook actually allowed Emma to cloud his judgment that’s why he took her hand and gave Emma the chance to trap him. It was really heart-wrenching to see Hook try to convince Emma not to do what she ended up doing…

Oh, and I agree on the note of this episode sinking SwanHook. Not for the VIEWERS mind you, but for the canon of the show. Maybe Hook was semi-sorta into Emma, but that was stopped when she betrayed him and left him up with a giant. Now she’s on his list – not as high up as Rumpel, of course, but she’s on it. It was the perfect set-up for him going straight back to Cora and joining her season 2 villain brigade.
