The revelation that it was the ink that ensnared Rumple and that he had a stash of it in his cell seems to confirm that Rumple planned for himself to get captured. The BF probably did enchant the quill but the enchantment alone would have had no effect on Rumple. Rumple probably is in the book but not in any great detail.
I completely agree with the first part. I’ve always suspected that Rumple WANTED to be captured either to talk to the Charmings or just to have someplace to hang before the curse (who knows with that loon <3)
I find Blue’s lack of knowledge about Rumple and his goings on over HUNDREDS of years so disconcerting. She knows he was going to try the curse. Heck, she basically told him about it. And then apparently sat back and did nothing while he gathered information, looked for different routes to our world, and finally manipulated Regina just enough to get her to do it She only started acting the part of the righteous BF when it became apparent it was actually going to happen for real. (I really don’t trust her)
well, if there was a story of Cinderella in the book, it would be hard to tell it without including Rumple’s part. Same as the Snow White stories. At the time when Henry was still wondering who Mr Gold might be, he didn’t actually know how evil Mr Gold is. I don’t think they had many interactions, in Henry’s eye he was someone important but he couldn’t figure out whether bad or not. As the things went on and eventually the curse was broken, he learned more about Gold, he joined all the dots, he’s a smart kid so he figured it out, eventually.
I have a question what occurred between Rumple and Regina to have a fall out? The conversation in the dinner regarding Cora, sounds that they had teamed up. Could it possibly be that Rumple called in the favor that he said he was going to ask of Regina for teaching her magic? I mean she did say she loved her mother maybe that was what caused the fall out between the two. I think Rumple has a lot to be afraid of it is not Cora going after Regina and Hook vs Rumple. If in fact Rumple actually was the one that they believed killed Cora wouldnt Cora want to kill Rumple more than Regina. Maybe she is just using Hook for help but in fact get rid of him in order to do the deed of killing Rumple herself.

I think Blue Fairy seriously underestimated Rumple and never thought he would actually create the curse. At the time he declared his intentions, he was pretty wound up so she probably thought that he just needed to cool down. Rumple didn’t exactly announce his dealings with people so it’s possible that Blue Fairy considered him unimportant.
All magic comes with a price!
