ParticipantSaw this at TWoP this morning,
Keegan Connor Tracy@keegolicious
Attention #DowntonAbbey I will soon be down a series and would be delighted to appear as the Flirty/Evil Canadienne cousin?
If she’s not really evil, then I think it makes sense to just kill her off because I feel that they’ve messed up her character badly, and I’m not sure if they can straighten everything out unless they feature the Blue Fairy more, which I don’t really see them doing.
For instance, instead of just telling us outside of the actual show, a technique which I hate because I think it makes writers lazy and because not every viewer knows about what the writers have said outside of the show, I wish they would have shown more instances of how so many people asked the Blue Fairy for help but that she was limited in her help. I felt the show was inconsistent in doing this, so in some cases, the actress and the writing made it seem like the Blue Fairy had ulterior motives.
I know that there are posters here who have defended the Blue Fairy for just being flawed like the rest of the characters because she was limited in her power, which I could have accepted, had the show did a better job of showing that on the actual show. Instead I felt she was written inconsistently as their rules of magic seem to be, except for the rule of no one being able to come back from the dead. So when they needed her for a plot device she could step in, but when they didn’t want a character to be able to do something or have a character use a different way of achieving something, they would use it as plot device to keep her from being able to do it without any real consistency, imo. I just wish she had been written more consistently because sometimes she’ll help, but then other times there’s no reason given as to why she’s not trying to help out or why she didn’t know something even though I feel like she should have more knowledge even if she doesn’t have much power given her age, imho.
While I think it would have been better had they had someone from the start who was on the side of good who was equally as powerful or useful as Regina and Rumple since the scales of power are definitely tipped in evil’s side right now, I guess they’re going to eventually have Emma in that role. As for the Blue Fairy, I see her being expendable, so I can’t blame them for wanting to write her out since Emma looks like she’ll be learning how to use her “good” magic from Rumple, and all the story lines that the Blue Fairy was a part of will have some type of closure soon (wardrobe, Bae) or have been dropped probably because of scheduling issues (Dreamy).

ParticipantI have to agree with you on her being used as a plot device. I was kind of disappointed at The Cricket Game when they only had her there to throw the fairy dust. Of this season, it was the one episode for me personally that had the same tone as Season 1 and she didn’t even have one line. I fear that the pictures we’ve seen of her at Gold’s shop may yield more of the same. With so many new characters in an already huge cast of both regulars and recurring characters I fear who may get the ax next. I will be sorry to see her go.

ParticipantIf the blue fairy is being killed off, if it’s a villan who is responsible for it, I have to think of Cora. Maybe even Rumpel, and that’s just because of what he said about the “dead fairy” in the episode where he used her magic wandin that cave.

ParticipantI was kind of wondering if killing her might have something to do with getting Belle’s memory back after that spoiler was posted about how Gold helps her get her memory back would be something to watch out for. I just have no idea what he might do if he’s desperate or what he can do for that matter.

ParticipantJust had a thought. We all know the Blue Fairy likes to interfere in business that doesn’t concern her (Dreamy/Nova and Rumple/Bae), What if Blue Fairy tells Rumple that Belle is better off not knowing him?
Blue’s interference has already screwed up Rumple’s relationship with Bae, there’s no way that he’d let her screw up his relationship with Belle.Killing the Blue Fairy, perhaps in order for Belle to regain her memories, will not only put a divide between Rumple and Bae but could also create friction between Rumple and Belle.

ParticipantMaybe they don’t kill her. Only transfer her to another realm, where she is again a blue fairy and do her own things again. Let her go to the enchanted forest and let her do her magic to the people, who calling her. I mean she was only a plot device, but she was also refered as the origin power and I think you should not kill the blue fairy in a family TV Show. What next, killing the Santa Clause, the easter bunny or Bert from the sesame street.
But, ok if they do it. Hopefully she do something for Rumple. I mean if she would have believe him and help him to get to his son, without creating a curse. There wouldn’t be such a mess. Rumple was desperate. She should have known after a so long life that he didn’t give up to get to this world without magic and give him a hint that there were a magic tree he could use. He would be reunited with his son and the curse with the Dark One was over. WIN WIN. I didn’t get it, why she did not help. I mean why is she only helping the “Good” guys. It would be very sad if she sacrifice herself to someone that hate her, so that later he will help the fairies and his hate will fate (and didn’t race the rent again 😉 )

Totally agree with you on that last sentence…Blue Fairy’s death at Rumple’s hands wouldn’t make his loved one’s too happy.
I’m also wondering if Rumple might find out something more about Bae going through the portal…something Blue Fairy might have known about or had a hand in…thus far he thinks it was just a plan to free him from magic that went wrong (even thought he blamed BF for taking his son from him)…what if he finds out it was some greater plot at the hands of Blue Fairy…that she was more deeply involved in it than even he knew. He might get mad enough to off her.

Think Keegan Connor Tracy meant the series Bates Motel. Filming was scheduled to end on February 6th. according to BCFilm Commission (Tracy’s tweet was from Feb. 5th). She plays Norman Bates’ teacher and advicer on the show. The 10-episode first season of the series will start airing March on A&E. If there will be more than one season is at the moment unknown.
But go on and come up with scenarios of Blue Fairy’s death. One never knows if and when it might happen 😉

Sorry I jumped the gun a little. 😳 When I was on break, I did a little surfing and saw that she answered a fan that she wasn’t leaving OUaT, but I didn’t have time to repost.

Yes, if she turned out to be the Big Bad or one of the Big Bads, which doesn’t seem likely given what K&H have said time and again about her, maybe I’d feel differently, but I don’t think that they’ve given her enough depth like most of the other regulars. I understand she’s not perfect, but I wish we could have seen more of her struggles when she can’t do something or when she actually has inner turmoil about something she has to do. I guess there was some of that with the wardrobe issue, but I was bothered by the whole thing about her lying despite her saying that fairies never lie before. Plus, I felt whatever turmoil that she had seemed minimal compared to the struggles that I could feel Geppetto and Snowing going through.

ParticipantMaybe it was a little to fats to set the topic that she may leave but it is a great discussion that the Blue fairy need something more for her character. There is somthing missing and it is good to discuss it with all of you.
