It’s interesting that she vouches for Lancelot and he ends up being Cora. She vouches for the blacksmith and he ends up being Hook. Sooooo… Emma and Snow need to not listen to her.

My major criticism with OUAT is the sound quality of this show sucks…. They shoot only one camera so the dialogue gets washed away. I have to keep close caption on in order to keep track of the dialogue. I hate that.

Also I hate to pull the race card, but I’ve always felt that Mulan is there because they wanted a token Asian character. Oh, who’s the one Asian princess? Mulan! Let’s just bring her in. That’s one meta-reason I don’t think she’ll turn out to be a traitor. I do hope they start doing something with her character, though…
A black woman has never been since on Once Upon A Time, maybe the first will be the one from Princess and the Frog?
November 1, 2012 at 2:55 pm #158899RumplesGirlKeymasterIt may not be that she’s a traitor, but if Cora has her heart and thus controls her, she could order her to pretend to gain Emma’s/SW trust and act as through she hates Cora as much as Mulan would, if she had a heart. I think we need to remember that Cora has ways of making people do things against their will.
Now with that said..I really hope Mulan isn’t being controlled.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"November 1, 2012 at 3:23 pm #158906thetricksterParticipantI think Mulan is just the boring paladin of good. You know, honorable, trustful, defending the weak, saying the truth, a bit impulsive to “give justice”… but not evil or twisted.
We find her a bit weird because she is so good… and we are used to characters with a personality with shadows, secrets, etc… In my opinion, Hook had infiltrated among people as a blacksmith and all what Mulan did was say what she knew about him. And if she does something that could be dangerous for someone’s integrity, it will be probably because she thought those persons were not playing totally fair.
The boring paladin of good. 😆November 1, 2012 at 11:11 pm #159020beautyistruthParticipantI completely agree with the boring paladin of good criticism! Mulan is one of my favorite princesses and she is so dull on this show. Flat one-liners, no sense of interiority, a few sage remarks. Bleh. Her character had better start becoming more dymanic, or I will be sad. Even Jiminy Cricket’s character is more interesting, and he is a freaking consience :/

Ok now I can see this as being an explanation, why Mulan was Lancelot’s (Cora’s) right rand warrior and all the trinkets of suspicious behavior. One of these things by itself doesn’t mean much but seeing this things all at once adds up to something. I know it probably means nothing more than likely it’s nothing but I’m just saying look at all these little things.
1. Cora made it a point to send Mulan with Snow and Emma
2. Mulan vouched for Hook being a blacksmith
3. When Hook is giving away some good information Mulan is really quick to want to leave him to the ogres
4. Why did Cora leave so easily when Mulan showed up in the nursery?
5. How was Cora able to follow them when they were on that trip to return to the wardrobe?November 3, 2012 at 3:38 am #159208JosephineParticipantI wrote this on another thread, but a few days ago, I saw on tumblr that someone wrote they went to a convention and Tony Amendola, Geppetto, was there. He was talking on the show and made the comment that Mulan was a villian. I don’t know if this is true or not, but it was interesting.
