I had completely forgotten that we have an animated Disney movie set in New York City….Oliver and Company. In the episode, The Crocodile, Rumple says, “Please sir…” and when I heard it I was totally reminded of Oliver Twist’s famous line. In the mini series, Neverland, Peter Pan and the Lost Boys start off in an Oliver type story.
Here is a clip of the song, “Once Upon a Time in New York City. (lyrics posted below)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6YTXjOwSL8And here’s a clip of the song, “Why Should I Worry.” Notice the yellow bug in the clip. (Lyrics posted below)

[attachment=0:ofmo5qu4]Oliver and Company dalmation.png[/attachment:ofmo5qu4]Once Upon a Time in New York City
Now it’s always once upon a time
In New York City
It’s a big old, bad old, tough old town, it’s true
But beginnings are contagious there
They’re always setting stages there
They’re always turning pages there for youAin’t it great the way it all begins
in New York City?
Right away you’re making time and making friends
No one cares where you were yesterday
If they pick you out you’re on your way
To a once upon a time that never endsSo, Oliver, don’t be shy
Get out there, let go and try
Believing that you’re the guy
They’re dying to see
‘Cause a dream’s no crime
Not once upon a time
Once upon a time in New York CityIf it’s always once upon a time
In New York City
Why does nightfall find you feeling so alone?
How could anyone stay starry eyed
When it’s raining cats and dogs outside
And the rain is saying, “Now you’re on your own”?So, Oliver, don’t be scared
Though yesterday no one cared
They’re getting your place prepared
Where you want to be
Keep your dream alive
Dreaming is still how the strong survive
Once upon a time in New York CityKeep your dream alive
Dreaming is still how the strong survive
Once upon a time in New York City
Keep your dream alive
Dreaming is still how the strong survive
Once upon a time in New York City
And it’s always once upon a time
In New York CityWhy Should I Worry
One minute I’m in Central Park
Then I’m down on Delancey Street
From the Bow’ry to St. Marks
Uh, There’s a syncopated beatI say “Whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo”
I’m streetwise
I can improvise
I say “Whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo”
I’m streetsmart
I’ve got New York City heartWhy should I worry?
Why should I care?
I may not have a dime
But I got street savoir faireWhy should I worry?
Why should I care?
It’s just bebopulation
And I got street savoir faire
The rhythm of the city
But once you get it down
Then you can own this town
You can wear the crownWhy should I worry?
Tell me, Why should I care?
I may not have a dime
But I got street savoir faireWhy should I worry?
Why should I care?
It’s just do-bopulation
And I got street savoir faireEv’rything goes
Ev’rything fits
They love me at the Chelsea
They adore me at the RitzWhy should I worry?
Why should I care?
And even when I cross that line
I got street savoir faireWhoo, whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo (repeated)

Ya never made the connection cause there ain’t no connection. What fairydust hasn’t told ya is there’s a blue, green, orange and white bug. Love Bug done in ’66 was white not yellow. She’s just off on another rant making stuff connections that don’t exist.

December 21, 2012 at 3:30 am #165670craxyfoxParticipantOliver and Company is an incredibly cute and sweet story, but has many many sad bits that make me want to cry 😆
