Do we need the lion tattoo explained too? I think that’s generally a season three thing, not a season two thing.

If I want to learn more about any tattoo, it’s why Emma has the buttercup tattoo? There has to be some kind of Princess Bride connection there. It just needs to be confirmed already.

I think Robin’s Lion Tattoo holds some importance…his darker days before 4×17. That’s what we need to see!

Robin Hood, the Robin Hood of lore most of us are familiar with was a lord or his father was but then the Sheriff took away his lands; hence, why Robin became an outlaw.

Now, it would be interesting if somewhere down the line we get introduced to Prince John since he along with the Sheriff of Nottingham, or even Guy of Gisborne are typically the trio of villains Robin fights against.

I’m still struggling to see this ‘dark past’ of Robin’s. Still don’t see it.

Word. 417 was supposed to explore that but it showed what we already knew: he was a thief

    That’s what I suspected.

Adam and Eddy like to do this thing this season where they over hype stuff. They did this with Ursula’s backstory with Hook, so Robin’s non-existent dark history doesn’t surprise me.

But I think it all depends on the point of the character. To Robin, he has a dark history. But to everyone else (namely us), it isn’t all that dark. Regina definitely has a darker history than Robin, though. Unless we find out that Robin also went a vengeful rampage and murdered a whole village just to find one person, but extremely doubtful.

When I get to actually watching the episode and then later writing up that kindred spirits section in my true love meta, it’s going to be funny.

And like we thought with 1×18 was supposed to be it for Regina’s backstory, alas we learned there are many phases in every story.

Sean mentioned Heart of Gold was suppose to be the origin story of Robin Hood. We got that, but I was disappointed he was already sort of on the up and up at the beginning of this origin story. That does give them room to play with Robin’s story before Marian.

I think the “dark history” is that RH wanted to steal the elixir for his own selfish reasons, the gold Rumple was going to give him. Instead he learned that he should steal for others. So his dark past is that he once stole for himself–it matches what RH told us in 4A when he told Will how he and Marian met.

    Yeah, that makes sense.
