I think that Henry’s father did do something to Emma though i think it may be a misunderstanding. I don’t think that Emma is lying about the fact that she believes the father did something to her. She is way too angry for it to make sense that it is a lie. I have always thought that whatever happened, whatever the father did, caused Emma to go to jail, but we have no proof of that. Not that she is completely innocent in whatever caused her to go to jail. It does seem that she is complicate in some way and not that she just didn’t do it, but who knows. I just always have the two events wrapped up together because we know that Emma got pregnant went to jail and then found out she was pregnant so those events were close together in timeline. A lot of times it seems like the writers are flying by the seat of their pants so who knows how much of that they actually have planned out.
Yes, I agree with you and Gaultheria that perhaps Bae really wasn’t a bad guy if he’s Henry’s father but that it was some kind of misunderstanding that lead Emma to thinking that.
Unfortunately I agree that sometimes it feels like the writers are just flying by the seat of their pants. I think they do have some things planned out, but other things I don’t think they realize that some fans will wonder how _____ was possible and pick at all the plot holes and inconsistencies.
Like at Television Without Pity, I know a lot of people have been picking apart the Curse recently and how we’ll probably never know how it’s possible that the Curse is just smart enough to do so many things if residents can’t ever leave Storybrooke like replenshing most of their food presumably, updating their technology slowly but updating it nonetheless, or making up fake documents like Kathryn’s LSAT tests. I don’t really try to think about it too much, but I could see how things like that could drive people crazy. I’ll be okay as long as they just answer all the big questions as they go along, which so far they have.

It does seem like they have some of the bigger things planned out, but there does seem to be a lack of consistency in the story and a lot of silly things they do that make no sense, but it connects the two stories the Storybrooke side and the fairytale land side. Like the apple being pulled from the hat. On one hand that is pretty cool that it is the same apple that Snow took a bite from and yet on the other hand that causes all sorts of issues with the pulling something through the hat from any time and place.
The details about the curse don’t really bother me. If the curse is sort of a changing object that does all of those things i have no issue with that. The food could just be replenished in the back room of the stores at night and since everyone’s memories are off then they wouldn’t know that was happening. And Emma wouldn’t know. It is also possible that no one ever buys new clothes. It seemed like no one ever went to Granny’s inn besides Regina and Graham before Emma came to town, so it is possible that a lot of the shops never really had patrons. It would only be the food that would really need to be replenished and that could just be a hammerspace curse thing which works for me.

There is more storyline possiblities if he were another man. There are limitations when you start making every character related to another one, plus you start entering into corny territory. Just saying.
June 4, 2012 at 7:18 pm #148343merryleeplayingParticipanti still think Bae is Henry’s father and i agree that there will be another love interest for Emma. So that when Bae does arrive in SB Emma will be involved with someone else. = more akward moments.
I’ve also be toying with the notion that instead of Bae being married/engaged, maybe Bae was going into the priesthood. He was still in the “priest-in-training” phase. Maybe Bae felt he needed to atone for his father.
Another notion of mine is that Bae was getting ready to depart for an overseas Peace Corps assignment. Maybe Emma didn’t want to hold him back from his dream by telling him he was a father.June 4, 2012 at 8:12 pm #148348schmackyParticipantSo, Emma classifies this guy as “no hero” and doesn’t think his real story is good for Henry to hear… and she obviously has issues with him… yet, he was a priest in training or going into the Peace Corps?
If Emma knew either of those things then she wouldn’t have negative feelings about him and she would have told Henry the truth about his father.
Personally, I don’t want Bae to be Henry’s father because I want Henry’s dad to be a dick and I don’t want Bae to be a dick.

i think Baelfire was turned into ageless object or animal until he came in contact with Emma. i prefer a frog but anything will do.
What if it was the reverse? Emma finds out she’s pregnant and – poof- Bae is turned into a frog. She can’t find him so it looks like he has run off.
Since Mr Gold/Rump poured the potion into the well, the water touches many lands (can’t remember exact words) maybe the water will come in contact with Bae in some form- human or ???. Maybe this will draw Bae back to SB or send a signal to Mr Gold so he can go to Bae’s location.June 6, 2012 at 9:11 pm #148428clockwatcherParticipantThis is what I think happened:
Bae was transported to some realm (our world or another). There, he met Jefferson. Jefferson became a sort of fatherly figure to Bae since he had lost Rumple. Then, Jefferson told Bae about realm jumpers, or whatever he was and how it would be possible to travel through time and space. Bae had nothing except Jefferson, but Jefferson then had Grace and wasn’t going to stay in one dimension forever anyway, so he basically had nothing. He became a realm jumper (or something of the like) and explored other realms.
Maybe something happend with Bae in another realm or something that made Jefferson not want to use the hat anymore, realizing it’s danger. But Bae decided to continue traveling through time and space.
He spent some time in our world, where he met Emma. Thus, stuff happened and Henry was created. But before Bae knew about Henry, he went back to the hat. Maybe there was something left behind that he couldn’t leave unfinished. Maybe he just couldn’t stay away from traveling because it was all he’d ever known and feared staying in our realm for Emma. Maybe he found out about Henry and didn’t want all of the responsibility, just like Emma. Whatever the case, he left.
Maybe he went back to the EF to look for Rumple.
Whatever happened to make him do so, I predict he then went to FTL. But it was post-curse. All of his loved ones, the people he had known and left behind, were gone, and the forest was in ruins.
So, he returns.
And maybe this is when we’ll see him.June 7, 2012 at 12:40 am #148436hjbauParticipantI really think Bae just came to our world and has been in our world and that is it. I guess it could be more complicated then that, but i am going with the straightforward on this one.
