I don’t think the conversation Prince Charming had with Rumpelstiltskin warmed the former up to the latter as much as many would like–Rumpelstiltskin had still stolen his ring and forced him to fight a dragon in return for what was rightfully his in the beginning. And before that, he caused problems for both Snow White and Prince Charming.
But I think the conversation in A Land Without Magic did still help Prince Charming (for a moment) to feel a bit of understanding–they both had something in common: True Love. Both lost it at one point in their lives. For a moment, Prince Charming served as a confident to Rumpelstiltskin, who seemed almost a bit relieved to talk (to an extent) about Belle.
Nevertheless, I think his deal with Cinderella was one of the last straws for Prince Charming. The latter could not condone that, and who can really blame him?

Yeah, but eventually we’re going to find out the baby taking plan was a con, Rumple’s goal being to be put into prison so he ‘d be there when the curse struck. Then perhaps instead of seeing Rumple as evil and crazy, Charming will see him as simply crazy.
Why would it be Rumpel’s goal to be in prison when the curse struck? What does he have to gain by being in prison? He could have had both of those conversations, the one with Snow and Charming and the one with Regina, without being in prison.

I don’t think it was being in prison as much as the location of the prison. Wasn’t the prison in the old mines? Perhaps the fact it was a mine or just underground added some sort of protection from the curse.
But we know that Rumpel wasn’t protected from the curse. He didn’t get his memories back until he heard Emma’s name in Granny’s inn in the Pilot. and that was because he traded the her name for information about the curse. I just don’t get why it makes sense that Rumpel would have a plan that would involve him getting locked up because there seems to be no gain from it.
