AHHHHHHHHHHH. <--this might be only reaction to all the spoilers we get about this episode. It needs to be here NOW Do we think that Nealfire will even know who “Mr. Gold” is? He shouldn’t know their SB names unless August and he have been in communications all along.
Yeah I wouldn’t think he would know the name Gold…but I wonder what questions Neal was asking her…I would think she would be the one with all the questions.

Judging from the promo, it’s likely Neal spotted Rumple with Emma before he ran off.

Maybe his mother died in childbirth and his father was never around or actually LEFT Rumple. If so, it would make motherhood a really noble endeavor in Rumple’s mind as well as being a good father. So when Milah becomes like she was in “The Crocodile” it’s a real slap in the face because Rumple was a good papa Pre-Dark One and Milah loved her son, but did leave him, something that happened to Rumple so he understood it. And then he went and did exactly what his father did. Oh man. Issues, guys. Issues.
Sorry, I haven’t had time to respond to all the reactions, but man, I agree with this one! Poor Rumple had serious daddy issues, and despite his best efforts, he ended up like his old man (if not way worse). Poor Baelfire! Poor Henry! 😥

So I guess that means the dagger is buried…wasn’t there a suggestion that it was in the library basement somewhere?
Rumple had the dagger in episode 2×01 “Broken” He used it in the forest to summon the wraith. But I do think it’s well hidden either somewhere in Storybrooke or in forest. I think he is the only one who knows it’s location.

The buried treasure tweet suggests it’s…buried. lol. Maybe it’s back out in the woods.

What buried treasure tweet? Did I miss something?
ETA: Never mind, found it.

So, looks like Henry and Gold are talking about his ability to see the future, but how it’s not perfect or as great you might imagine.
Can I just…Grandpapa Rumple is so great. He really was a great father before he became the Dark One out of desperation.

Also, the fact that Nealfire has been running for a long time might lend some credence to the idea that he is Nealfire Pan and was in Neverland for quite some time and is recently in our world: like 28 years recent.
Yes! I was hesitant to bring up this theory here since it’s been posted in other threads, but I agree with you. Neal being on the run really does fit in nicely with him being Peter Pan.
Depends on one’s definition of a “long time”, but for someone like Rumple, you’d think that 28 years wouldn’t be considered that long, given that he’s been around for about 300. So I’m liking this as a nod to Bae having been on the run in Neverland for quite some time, before eventually landing in our world.

SO many issues! 😥 It just adds so much more gravity to the “coward” theme if Rumple’s goal in life had been to be anything but a coward, but ended up with the label anyway. And I suspect he didn’t even actually do anything particularly cowardly to earn that label either, which would make it an even bigger slap in the face.
Given the tweet where Gold is telling Henry that seeing the future isn’t an exact science, I’m thinking that the Seer tells Rumple about his son, and about how he’s going to lose him. So, fearing that his newborn son is in danger, he runs home to protect him. In doing so, he somehow earns the coward tag, which sets in motion the events that did actually lead to him losing his son. Self fulfilling prophecy is a real bugger!!!

And another!
Yesterday in another thread, I posted that perhaps his piratey skill that he was apparently gonna use to deduce something about the dagger was that he’d school Cora and Regina in the finer points of buried treasure. I said it half jokingly, so when I saw this tweet, I literally LOLd. 😆

I know!!! It’s also ironic, in a way Nealfire and Emma have repeated the same history too. Nealfire thought that Emma had to be alone to fulfill her destiny which lead to her giving up Henry for adoption despite the fact that I know she didn’t want to. 😥
Now I really want to know who Rumple’s father is and what issues there were and to see if there’s some kind of pattern going on with Rumple’s family line that hopefully Henry won’t repeat. (I really love the idea that he’s a famous fairy tale character too since it could possibly introduce a new world or worlds like if he were from The Wizard of Oz per chance.)
