I think maybe Cora tried to steal Rumples power by the true loves kiss. And this would explain why he thought that way when Belle finally kissed him. And his mentioning of the Evil Queen has to be involved. Because her mother once tried it too.

I really really hope they don’t make Rumple turn out to be Regina’s father. I try not to be critical of the writers until we’ve seen a full season or know where a storyline is going, but I will be so disappointed if this turns out to be true for all the reasons everyone has already listed. It just doesn’t make any sense based on how Gold/Rumple has always treated her, and I don’t think it’s realistic for him to not realize she was his. He knows who her mother is and would know when they were together, so I don’t know how he could not at least think she might be his daughter if it were a possibility.
Agreed. If I thought it could be done in a believable way, I wouldn’t be so against it, but it just does not compute, given what we already know. If Regina’s bio-dad ends up being someone other than HenrySr, my money is on it being George.
Since I’ve long doubted Henry Sr. to be Regina’s birth dad, I still think of King George as being Regina’s dad. George had gold-lust and wanted children, and Cora was the miller’s daughter who could supposedly spin straw into gold and pledged her first-born child to Rumplestiltskin. There’s a nice dichotomy there, though I could be wrong.
Any relationship verging on a personal nature between Cora and Rumple, I’d imagine would be mostly instigated by her. If she had a lust for power, even back then, not only would she have found Rumple sexy as all hell, but she’d have been conniving enough to try and make him vulnerable and break down his defenses so she could tap into more of the power he held. I can’t see Rumple letting someone break all the way through his walls though. He couldn’t afford to let himself be vulnerable, because he had to remain focused on his mission to find Bae. So I dunno how believable I’d find it if Corumple ended up in bed together. I certainly think she’ll try, but can’t imagine him giving in.
I still think that if anyone could bed the Dark One, it’d be Cora. (Not even Bell managed that in the EF). Cora’s a seductress and a temptress. With everything she does, she has an ulterior motive. Unless a woman were born into royalty like Snow White, sex and marriage were the only way a woman could have power in her day. I might be mistaken, and perhaps Rumple was just a teacher and Cora his apprentice of magic, yet that kiss came from somewhere and seemed like more than an old flirtation. Cora said, “Let’s seal it like we use to,” suggests to me that part of the deal she made to keep Regina was sealed with more than just a kiss. I just imagine Cora and Rumple having a lot of rivalry both in and out of the bedroom.

February 22, 2013 at 1:51 pm #174834RumplesGirlKeymasterIt’s also the way that Cora said “Let’s seal it like we used to” and the look on Rumple’s face. He didn’t seem happy about it. Like she had some sort of power over him. Maybe for Cora it was all about power and seducing Rumple to get power and money, ect. But for Rumple, perhaps it became something more. We know he’s claimed he’s not an easy man to love, what if Cora is another woman who rejected him (like Milah?)

That’d be interesting if dark Rumple actually cared for Cora at one point. I wonder if he isn’t just using her though, knowing that Regina would be the one to cast the dark curse for him.

Just thought I would repost this link to the call sheet describing what the scene is about. Wish I can find that link where a photo of Cora looks like the dark one now does anyone have that one? ❓
February 23, 2013 at 12:13 am #174959abyParticipantMmmm I am not sure about Regina being the daughter of Rumpel and Cora, but I do recall Rumpel Saying (-I hold you in my arm when you were more… portable) so what if Regina is made out of the magic of Cora and Rumpel? This would explain why Rumpel was always expecting her to become evil because he made his monster. I also suppose he would not care for her since she was just made out by his dark magic.
I also want to point out the fascinating interest for both Cora and Regina over Flowers. Regina seem to consider like family her apple tree. Here the story of thumbelina “A lonely woman who has long dreamed for a child of her own is finally granted her wish when a fairy provides her with a flower which blossoms and releases a young woman no bigger than a thumb.” This is just a theories I like, the contrast between a simple flower and the Evil Queen there is no real chance for this to be true.
Anyway there must be something magical about Regina birth.

By JARETT WIESELMAN March 05, 2013
Rose McGowan played one of TV’s most iconic witches on The CW’s Charmed, and now, 7 years later, she’s getting back on the broom (metaphorically speaking) to bring Young Cora to life on Sunday’s all-new episode of Once Upon A Time.
The episode, titled The Miller’s Daughter, not only reveals her long history with Rumple, but how Cora became the powerful witch she is today. ETonline caught up with McGowan to talk about her TV return, how it felt to be working against a greenscreen again and what’s been the most lovely side-effect of playing Paige Matthews.
ETonline: Were you previously a fan of the show?
Rose McGowan: I had seen the show, but not been able to follow it because of traveling. Ginnifer Goodwin owns my old house, so we’ve always been friendly — then the creators, invited me into their office and asked if I’d ever consider doing something on their show, and I wanted to … as long as I could play some high level acting tennis with Robert Carlyle. We had a tremendous time. He’s an amazingly talented actor and anytime you get to play act with someone of that caliber, you jump at it.ETonline: Considering you’re playing a younger version of a pre-existing character, did you watch Barbara Hershey did to inform your performance?
McGowan: I did watch quite a bit of her stuff, and then I threw it all away. I let it sink in and land where it was going to in my pea brain, but then I forgot about it. I didn’t try to match her at all, so if it’s there, that’s just a result of my previous research.ETonline: I also have to say, the costumes you get to wear are kind of next level.
McGowan: Oh, he kills me. Eduardo Castro is the costume designer, and he actually costumed me when I played Ann-Margret in the Elvis miniseries, so I’d already met him and what they serve up on that show is spectacular. It’s like doing Marie Antoinette back in the golden days of film.ETonline: It’s been 7 years since Charmed ended, and 7 years since you did anything on TV. Are those two things correlated?
McGowan: It took me a long time to want to set foot back on another TV set because Charmed was such a special and long experience for me. I had a great time making the show, but there’s no balance in your life. You’re so tied down doing a TV series; I didn’t see my friends, I didn’t see my family or really do anything but work for five years, practically. So after it ended, I started traipsing around the world and not caring that much about being tied down to Los Angeles. But everyone on [the OUAT] set is so amazing, I’m ready to do another TV show as a result of the experience.ETonline: Like Charmed, Once Upon A Time features a lot of greenscreen work….
McGowan: [laughs] Yeah, so have a lot of my movies. I’ve done some of my best work to a tennis ball that’s hanging off of a metal clip. Literally sobbing my heart out to a green tennis ball. For some reason, that’s how it shook out for me.ETonline: Is it hard to re-adjust to that kind of acting after 7 years?
McGowan: Yes, but also, there are little things — like Rumple has to get a contract to appear, so you freeze, the prop guy comes in, gives him the contract, and you resume action. I already knew all those little details because of Charmed. Whereas when I started on Charmed, no one explained to me what was going on. They’d say, “And now you orb.” I was like, “What?!?!” [laughs] No one ever really told me what all those words meant.ETonline: You joined Charmed halfway through its run, so you already knew it was a popular show, but has the audience’s enduring love for it surprised you?
McGowan: Oh my God, completely. I think it really became people’s family more than anything. I’ve met people who have named their babies Paige — which is such an honor. It’s interesting when you go out into the world and see which of your roles have affected people. There are some movies that I absolutely hate but someone else loves — people love things for different reasons, but I think people loved Charmed because it felt like a family. And like with Once Upon A Time, they love that battle between good and evil!
