Cora is telling Regina that because the king is not strong therefore Regina will be the true ruler of the land. I don’t know if it has anything to do with a time reference. But why on earth would Regina have stayed and married the King if Cora is gone and her plan was to leave.

So either there is a flaw in the writing or we’re missing something.

I thought of it as she is trying on the dress the night before the wedding. She finds out about the book of magic the day before the wedding (Henry Sr. says that in conversation with her when he talks about the book). That is what causes Rumpel to appear with the looking glass. I think it is later that night that she talks to Cora and pushes Cora in.
So it is the next morning before the wedding is supposed to take place that she is running away only to encounter Rumpel. She now has a taste for power and magic, so although we do not see the scene, I think Rumpel manipulates Regina into returning and marrying the King. He wanted her to be miserable after all, so she would cast the curse. Perhaps he implied she would need the authority of the Queen to be able to have the freedom to study with him or something like that.

We are both airs on TV over here in about 40 minutes. I’ll watch it again to see if I can timeline the events from Cora stopping Regina escaping with the tree spell to Regina trying to give the spell book back to Rumple.

Okay, Regina tried to escape two days before the wedding. She then spoke to Henry senior the day before the wedding because Henry said “the wedding’s tomorrow”. Regina first met Rumple the night before her wedding so Regina is wearing her wedding dress on her wedding day when she pushes Cora through the mirror. Regina trying to give the book back to Rumple happens on the same day but later on.

I would say that Regina has already married the king by the time she ran into Rumple the second time. It’s not clear whether or not she’d married Leopold before she pushed Cora through the mirror. Perhaps that happened literally right before the wedding so Regina wouldn’t have had time to get away before the wedding.

Just watched the promo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaBrnYhi3_M) for the last bunch of episodes and there is a clear shot of Snow pulling an arrow back to launch at Regina point blank. It’s right around 50 seconds. There’s also a scene at the start of the promo that I assume is from this episode where the Evil Queen calls for her troops to kill a village and bring her Snow White.

I’m really starting to think this episode is going to give us more of Regina hunting Snow Pre-Apple but post Huntsman. Probably before Snow meets Red.

I agree except I think it has to be AFTER Snow met Red. Before she met Red she didn’t know how to hunt or stay alive, hence why she was stealing from the hen house and still dressed in nicer clothing (though dirty)
