Gepetto tapped Emma on the shoulder. “You just-a leave the trees to me. I will carve a sister for Pinnochio.”

“Go to it, Geppetto,” Emma said, nodding.

“Emma! Help!” David yelled, trying to grab hold of his wife who was red-faced, trying to tear after Remy. “She’s trying to kill the rat!”

“Emma! What are we gonna do about the clockmonster?!” screamed Neal.

    “Tick tock,” said the clockmonster.

    “Save me!” said Remy.

Emma clutched her head. “Where’s a bathtub when I need it?! It’s just too much!”

Tamara came outside. “What’s going on now?” then the clockmonster stepped on her.

    Everyone rejoiced.

(Author note: Please can Geppetto make a legion of wooden girls who attack? 😀 )

Quiet breakfasts seemed out of the question, Rumpel thought, as an apple tree all of a sudden charged at his beloved Cadillac. Quick thinking helped him to prevent it, but enough was enough.

“Please, one knock or her noggin. This has to stop. You can even do it.” he pleaded.

“There’s got to be a better way, one that doesn’t resort to violence! Do you even know if this will work?”

Rumpel looked hurt, so Belle softened her approach.. “I mean, Rumpel, have you tried teaching Emma what she needs to know, instead of criticizing her?”

Rumpel replied curtly, “No, I haven’t. She refuses to be taught. She thinks she knows how to do it.”

Emma, Neal and Henry ran in from the chaos that was the outside world. “Papa, we need your help! And we need it now!” Neal seemed as if he was about to lose it, so Rumpel put both hands on Emma’s shoulders. Emma fell to the floor.

That seem to quiet the town down a little, but only by half. “Rumpel, you promised!” Belle cried out.

“That did not hurt her. And that should have worked. Why didn’t it?” Rumpel was confused.

“Papa, I think Henry has magic too.” Bae said.

“Henry, give your grandad a hug.” Runpel said, opening his arms. The boy ran towards him and sank away in his arms. The town quieted down.

“Don’t worry, he’s just sleeping, just like Emma.” He looked so much like Bae in his sleep, Rumpel thought lovingly as he put him to bed. “Get Regina, so we can clear up some of this mess. She will want her trees back.”

Bae and Belle just stared at him.”What? I’ll wake them up in a few hours as soon as the town is secure again.”Rumpel promised.

(we are heading for an ending, don’t you think? Though finishing it all off could take another few pages, no rushing things off)

Whilst Bae ran off to find Regina, Belle stood with her arms folded.

“What is it, Sweetheart?” Rumple asked as he went over to Belle and stroked her cheek.

“Why do we always get interrupted?” she replied.

“I think… that might be the price of magic.” Rumpel answered, pulling her close in his arms.

At that moment, the Charmings barged in, with a squeeking rat in tow.

Belle breathed a sigh of frustration. Rumple pulled Belle even closer, he could tell she was close to losing her temper, something she rarely did.

Outside things were quiet, until Gepetto fired up the chainsaw. “Now-a for the last tree.”
Behind him were rows of wooden puppet dolls, none moving. “This time, it will work”

His chainsaw growled with a fierceness one would think if it were not a machine, would have had an unsettling quality of angry sentience. He raised the chainsaw above his head and was about to strike, until the ground shook below his feet. He looked above him, and watched as clouds while before had been absent, had now gathered into a dark and tumultuous storm. Wind began to blow, and thunder rolled while lightning flashed over his head.
