Mr. Gold calmly retrieved the unruly toaster, and placed it next to the screaming bowl of cereal.
“Now listen to me, you two,” he demanded.
Emma stepped forward. “Let me try.”
“Dee Sadis Trecorum Mekoides Treguna” Emma said. If anything i made the toaster and the cereal more antsy.
“What did you just say?” Rumpel asked.
Emma shrughed. “I thought I would reverse the spell.”
“What spell? I never heard of it”
“It’s from ‘Bedknobs and Broomsticks. A spell for substituiary locomotion.”Emma replied
“You get your spells from an ancient Disney movie? Why not directly off the back of a cereal package?” Rumpel shouted. Did this girl think magic was a game?
“Well ehm….”
The cereal just cheered.
The toaster made a break for the door, but David was too fast for it. He grabbed it and wrestled it back to the counter.
Rumple stayed close to the bowl of cereal, raising his cane and focusing his gaze on each object in turn.
“What are you doing, Grandpa?” asked Henry.
“Focus is the key. They know their place. I’m just helping them find it again.”
Emma observed all of this skeptically. “Really, Gold? I’ve tried that a million times.”
Henry inched toward the toaster.
The toaster kicked David in the face, sending him reeling backward. “You’ll never take me alive!” the toaster yelled triumphantly. Henry stood still, being beaten up by a toaster was not the way to start a day.
All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of Felix*author aside: this toaster is amazing and I demand it be in the show*
The toaster made a b-line for the front door as Emma hurried after it. The bowl of cereal danced happily on the counter, glad to see his friend making such a bold move toward freedom.
Crossing the threshold of the door, the toaster turned left and hurried down the spiral staircase and out into Storybrooke.
“Oh dear,” said Snow, “this may not end well.”
“I can’t believe I’m asking this, but does anyone know how the spell ended in the movie?” Rumpel asked without taking his eyes off the cereal.
“Ehm… The witch lady was knocked unconscious and the enchanted objects lost their enchantment.” Henry replied. “Emma made me watch it.”
Rumpel lifted his cane, and took after Emma. “Good enough for me!”
“Rumplestiltskin, you get away from me with that cane!” Emma shrieked as Rumple chased after her.
Belle, having just stepped out of the library, watched the scene unfolding before her with bewilderment.
All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of FelixHurrying up the scene, Belle noticed a toaster running down Main Street.
“Rumple!” she shouted “what is going on here?”
Rumple paused and looked over at Belle. Crap
“Well, dear. Emma seems to have bewitched a toaster. I’m trying to set things right again.” he explained.
Emma, seeing Rumple distracted, quickly ran off in the direction of Granny’s where she thought the toaster might be headed.
“Really Belle, I just need to give her a wee tap or her noggin, and everything will be right as rain.”Rumpel tried to explain. “Honestly, it’ll hurt her more than it’ll do me.”
Belle, putting her hands on her hips, gave Rumple her best you-dont-expect-me-to-fall-for-that-doyou look.
“I think not, Rumple. Besides, it appears that Emma has vanished.” Belle said
Spinning around, Rumple realized Belle was right. “I have to find her Belle. We have to fix the toaster before someone sees it.”
Resigned that she would be spending the rest of the day chasing after an electrical device, Belle took Rumple’s hand and said “she’s headed toward Granny’s, I think.” As they set off toward the diner, Charming and Snow suddenly came outside.
