ParticipantNow that we all know Rebecca has been cast to become a villainess on Once for second half of Once Upon A Time…tell me who you think, and why!
Rebecca’s New Character Theme song Guess: “Bad Days Ahead” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7haZGMF6pU (Listen while looking at her picture…Bad Days Ahead for Storybrooke indeed…)
My Theory:
I believe that Rebecca will play the Wicked Witch of the East thought to be killed when Dorothy dropped her house on her. Now I do think that she is related to Regina as being either her aunt, or her baby sister. But I’m really going with it being Regina’s baby sister who had been sent away to Oz by an enraged Rumpelstilskin due to the fact that Cora cheated him out of Regina.
So Rebecca is probably six or five in this brand new land of Oz, and is lonely and scared when Rumple drops her off at some type of orphanage that the Good Witch of the North Tattypoo runs. Then they will go into the Wicked Witch of the East’s history of how she became said Wicked. Now I think the heartless Tin Man had something to do with that…wonder who took his heart and why?
Regina had been probably around eight or ten when her younger sister disappeared, and hadn’t seen or heard from her since her Evil Queen days when she learnt news that there was a Wicked Witch of East in the land of Oz, which could lead to Regina enforcing Jefferson to take her to her sister leading to a most usual “Mills Family Reunion”.
Now this being Adam and Eddy’s take on whatever they wish to do, I can see them making Regina take the role of the Wicked Witch of the West and hunt down Dorothy for her deceased sister’s shoes that could probably grant the user one wish that could break even the magical laws themselves. This will lead to conflict between Regina and the then Wicked Witch of the West as a type of rivalry for the shoes, and Regina is the one to tell Dorothy of the Witch’s weakness to water as a means of “promising” her a way home. This won’t kill the Wicked Witch, only weaken her to a state of melting till she recovers her power. That’s when Glinda appears and tells Dorothy of the shoes before Regina could get to her, thus Dorothy leaves with the Ruby Slippers.
Now I know many are wondering about Jefferson’s talk of the slippers being moved to another land…that didn’t necessarily mean Dorothy, after all this is Once. I can see a rather vicious Cora wanting all that power to herself thus bringing the Ruby Slippers to Wonderland. Cora did always like to wear red, however upon a visit from a heartbroken Rebecca seeking power and vengeance, Cora grants the ruby slippers to her. Cora always wanted her daughters to have power, and to believe love is weakness.
Now What Are Your Thoughts, and Theories?

I know, but this is specifically for her character theories of background history, connections, and thoughts. That thread is for the actress…this is for the character herself.

ParticipantOkay, let me readjust my theory >_< I was thinking she would be the east witch because of the necklace... But.. I'm gonna go with West Wicked Witch.. I think Eva, Snows mother, is the East witch and sister to this woman. I say this because of the obvious reference to "slippers" said by Eva in the Millers Daughter and plus the fact that on her death bed she wore a pair of bright Red sparkling shoes. Around this time, jefferson had gone to Oz looking for the shoes for Rumpel, but couldn't find them because they had passed to another land. Not our land. The enchanted forest.

KeymasterI believe that Rebecca will play the Wicked Witch of the East thought to be killed when Dorothy dropped her house on her. Now I do think that she is related to Regina as being either her aunt, or her baby sister. But I’m really going with it being Regina’s baby sister who had been sent away to Oz by an enraged Rumpelstilskin due to the fact that Cora cheated him out of Regina.
The one issue I have so far is that Cora is such a power hungry crazy person that I can’t see her NOT going to get that baby back, not out of maternal love but in order to best Rumple. Also, Rumple may be very angry/hurt by Cora and her actions but I don’t know that he’d outright hurt her infant. We don’t know why he was holding Regina but I don’t think it was to spirit away. After all, she was supposed to be his child. All the times Rumple had to hurt (actually hurt) Regina and he never took it. I think some part of him saw that she was Cora’s and therefore never laid a finger on her. Rumple said in Welcome to SB “Cora and I may have had our differences but she’ll always have a place in my heart.” So I don’t think he’d whisk her baby away after their THING ended.
As to the Witch of the East. I am going to point out that while we are crazy people who study these stories to death, most of the audience, about 9-11 million of us, don’t. The internet fan base is a nice portion but not as singificant. So having it be any other witch from OZ EXCEPT the Wicked Witch of the WEST would likely confuse the audience because for the most part their sole association with OZ is the 1938(9?) movie in which the only Witch you really meet is The Wicked Witch of the West. They have to try and keep things somewhat familar. So, yes Peter is a devil child, but he as certain symbols that signify him AS Peter Pan: the green clothing, the pixie dust, the constant game playing, the never wanting to grow up, thinking lovely thoughts. I’m not sure your casual audience member would be able to associate anything with any other witch from Oz except the Witch of the West.
