Regina said this to Gold in “Pretty in Blue:”
“I need a partner Gold. And we both know as much as I’d like to go to Storybrooke for help, that can’t be done. We can’t get there, and they can’t know we’re here. It’s us against them and we’re here together… just like it used to be.”
1. They’re acknowledging Storybrooke and that they should contact people there! But they can’t get there and Storybrooke can’t know they’re in HH. Why?
2. When Regina says “us against them,” is “them” referring to Storybrooke or Drizella, Gothel, and Tremaine?! The latter makes more sense, but then why does she switch who she’s talking about so suddenly? Also, is she referring to her and Gold being “together” against Storybrooke like they sort of were in S1?

There have been so many curses on the town line that I can’t even keep them straight. Have they all be lifted or are they still present? Can you leave Storybrooke and still find your way back to it? I think they lifted that one at the end of season 5 becasue they all went to NYC along with the leaving Storybrooke and turning into a tree that was lifted at the end of season 5 also correct? Anyway maybe the town line is again cursed so that outsiders can’t get in?
My second thought is maybe this is a parallel universe, maybe HH is not in the same realm as Storybrooke? Maybe this is fictional Seattle? It is not like they have not done that before.
My other thought is that is has to do with whatever curse has brought them to HH. We know that if the curse is broken something “bad” will happen to the ones Regina loves so maybe she doesn’t want to bring anyone else into the curse. We also know that this curse is meant to spread out the fairy tale characters and bring in non fairy tale characters into HH so that they intermix. Why is this important? Maybe that is why Regina and Rumple can’t bring in outside characters into HH maybe these characters can leave but new fairy tale characters can’t come in?

I, also, think there is no real explanation for why they can’t reach out to Storybrooke, except all of those actors don’t want to be on the show anymore. If they create some explanation, it is not going to be great. It is probably going to come back to people could die if the curse breaks, because the curse is keeping them alive somehow, by keeping them in some sort of stasis. I think they should have them all be trapped in a storybook somehow, but honestly, who knows. This probably just comes down to making Regina stupid because they have to keep those characters out.
November 20, 2017 at 9:04 am #344746Sci-Fi GirlParticipantSure, there can be lots of random reasons for why “we can’t get there”.
The stranger one is why “they can’t know we’re here”. That is an extremely odd thing to say, and there better be a reason for it.

Yeah I actually think that’s the stranger one. I mean, you have a seemingly unbreakable curse that will result in (possibly) Henry’s death if broken, of course you’re gonna call for backup in the form of his other mother/savior/person who usually handles this situation.
It goes back to something we said a lot over the summer; Emma Swan is always going to be the elephant in the room this season because, unless they had decided to kill her back in 702, we’re always gonna be wondering why Emma can’t just show up and help break the curse. And HH is unique in that Victoria wants people to leave so there is restriction in crossing boarders like there was in SB, season 1.
So when Regina drops super cryptic lines like that, the writers better be prepared to explain it somehow.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"November 20, 2017 at 11:20 am #344751SlurpeezParticipantIt’s going to be a convoluted reason that doesn’t make any sense. The actors chose to leave, so the writers had no choice but to scramble for any explanation whatsoever. I wish the writers could have been brave enough to let Emma sacrifice herself in the S6 finale rather than bring her back to life. It would have been sad but knowing that JMo would leave, but it would make the most sense and would have been true to the savior/mother character we knew in S1-3. Now fans will always wonder why she isn’t there to help Henry. Having a second child is not a handicap and shouldn’t prevent her from being the savior. The real Emma Swan (before she began acting totally OOC) would never have willingly forsaken Henry, no matter how grown up he is.

It’s not just Emma. Snow and Charming also would have willingly helped them, but they have to write around the fact that Ginny and Josh are no longer on the show, just like JMo.

To be clear, Adam did delete this tweet later but if everyone has actually traveled back in time then that would explain why they can’t reach out to SB (it’s technically Past!SB)

Very interesting. I would be ok with them going that route. It could really help explain the timeline and would be a creative reason for why they can’t have contact with Storybrooke.
