In Arendelle when the Snow Queen tries to pit Elsa and Anna against each other and it proves more difficult than she anticipates, she takes drastic measures. Meanwhile, in Storybrooke Emma’s powers are out of control and her fear of hurting loved ones pushes her away from everyone she cares about. In her confusion Emma turns to Gold for help getting her powers under control. Gold tells her about a way to get rid of her powers altogether and Hook tries to put a stop to it. Robin Hood recruits Will Scarlet to assist him on a mission and Mary Margaret and David search for Emma.

I’m still trying to figure out what Rumple’s end game is here but if he tricks Emma into using the hat to remove her powers and she gets stuck in there?!

I…what?
What?
The man who knew that true love was the strongest magic of all and specifically ensured that Emma would be True Love Incarnate is now trying to rob of her that? Like Zelena?
The guy who once told her to channel her emotions into protecting people? That she was stronger than she knew? Who had a smile of pride when she did real magic?

"there’s lesbians in it"October 24, 2014 at 3:25 pm #287213obisgirlParticipantI really don’t know what to say about Rumple anymore. I can’t come up with a reason to defend him, especially when he pulls tricks like this and to Emma, of all people.
Emma’s a good person, she doesn’t deserve to be trapped in a hat.
Just because she’s magical, he has to trap her?! Last episode was my boiling point in regard to Rumple’s behavior, but this is the explosion that further fuels how I feel about him this season.
I used to really love Rumple, he was my favorite for three seasons and now, I honestly cannot say that anymore. He’s not the character I fell in love with. This is more than being manipulative and downright vindictive, this is cruel.
I have a seething hate for Rumple now. It would help to understand why he’s behaving the way he is but I honestly can’t up with a plausible reason that doesn’t end with, “he’s being self-serving.”

I looked up the meaning of the name Ingrid, just it case it had significance to the story.
In Norse the meaning of the name Ingrid is: Beauty of Froy. Scandinavian Meaning: The name Ingrid is a Scandinavian baby name. In Scandinavian the meaning of the name Ingrid is: Ing’s ride. Ing was the Norse god of peace and fertility.
I’m not sure it yields any further clues about the motives of the Snow Queen.
However, on Urban Dictionary, the term Ingrid can be used in everyday usage to mean the following:
Sneaky, conceited, gullible, mean, liar, egotistical, paranoid
Everyday Usage: Why are you being such an Ingrid?!There was also a very famous Swedish actress named Ingrid Bergman. She starred with Humphrey Bogart in a well-known WWII classic called Casa Blanca . She also starred alongside Carrey Grant in an Alfred Hitchcock thriller called Notorious, to do with espionage.

But of course. True Love is strongest magic, so it should be enough to fill up the Sorcerer’s Hat… which seems to be all Rumple cares about right now.
The question is whether or not the hat will actually suck in Emma as well. If that’s the case, then Rumple has really reverted back to his old pure evil self.

I think he’s already there.

But he’s never been “pure evil” anymore than Regina and Hook have. There were always layers. He was the Dark One, but under that was the grieving father who was just trying to find his son. With the exception of Pan, maybe, they’ve never done evil for the sake of evil and this feels like GIANT character assassination because it’s nothing but grabbing for power for the sake of power, which isn’t how he operates.
