Brief synopsis for 2×5 The Doctor:
As Regina tries to refrain from using her magic in order to regain Henry’s trust, she starts seeing a ghost from her past; Mary Margaret and Emma find a survivor from an Ogre massacre; Regina struggles to learn the dark arts.
GUEST STARS: Raphael Sbarge, David Anders, Colin O’Donoghue, Sarah Bolger, Jamie Chung, Noah Bean, Sebastian Stan, Yurij Kis, Paula Giroday
Noah Bean is Daniel, who could be Regina’s “ghost from her past.” Also, I think this may set her on the road to redemption, hopefully, as she realizes Daniel would’ve been horrified by what she’s become.
It’s interesting to note that Colin O’Donoghue (Captain Hook) is in episode 5 as well. Perhaps he is the “survivor” of the Ogre massacre.

I think it will be interesting to see how Emma takes being in over her head in a magical land & having (+ learning she can) rely on her Mom/Snow to be there, otherwise I think it may have gotten old her being the ‘grounded’ one all the time- everyone else is used to & from magic/ FTL (aside from Henry who is a kid & a believer anyway) & they did live cursed lives for 28yrs which they still remember, so not as big a shock to their systems as FTL will be to Emma 😉
This way it set’s up conflict & resolutions in FTL + leaves the door open for more when they return & she has Charming to accept + Henry’s dad & being a full time Mom & dealing with & balancing Regina.

I think we’ll get to see Emma meet Captain Hook! Oh, could he become one of Emma’s new suitors about whom Jennifer Morrison hinted recently? Jennifer was very excited we’d meet the pirate in S2."That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. When you leave it, there’s this feeling that you can’t shake. You just miss it." Neal Cassidy

She might think about redeeming herself, but something will probably cause her to choose to be evil again this season.

I think so too.

http://entertainment.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474981685949October 16, 2012 at 5:13 am #156873PheeParticipantI just posted this in spoiler tags in a thread on the regular forum, but wanted to mention it here too.
The thread was about Cora’s powers, and whether or not Lancelot is really dead. I wondered if Cora can only shape shift into being someone she’s killed, or someone who’s heart she’s stolen. Then I remembered that Regina was apparently gonna be seeing Daniel’s ghost. Could that somehow be Cora appearing as Daniel in SB?
Edited to add another thought I had just now reading another thread. Maybe those ashes of the wardrobe that Cora collected wouldn’t have enough power to transport her, but would have enough power so she could astral project, in a sense. That could be how she’d appear briefly as Daniel’s ghost in SB, even if she’s not yet in town.
Edited again to add that maybe she doesn’t appear as Daniel’s ghost at all, maybe Regina actually sees Cora? I know that Barbara isn’t in the cast list in the first post of this thread, but perhaps it’s not a complete list yet?

ONCE UPON A TIME – “The Doctor” – While Regina continues to try and stop using her magic in an attempt to win back Henry’s affections, she begins seeing what she believes is a ghost from her past; and when Mary Margaret and Emma discover a lone survivor from an ogre massacre, Emma begins to question whether or not he’s telling the truth. Meanwhile, in the fairytale land that was, Regina finds herself failing at learning the dark arts from a dark master because something from her past is preventing her from using her magic for evil, on “Once Upon a Time,” SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28
Based on the promotional stills just released (posted in the “filming shots” thread), Killian Jones is definitely the “lone survivor from an ogre massacre” and he looks pretty frazzled. It also appears like all the other refugees were killed. Maybe Killian will lie about his true identity, but it looks like Snow finds his hook, which is a pretty clear give-away to who he really is: Captain Hook.
