Ohh, here’s my theory. Belle gets angry at Gold after she finds out he beat her dad up last Valentine’s Day, so she walks out to see her dad. On the way, she comes across Smee, who is the old aquaintance who abducted after she left Rumple. Her undoing is him capturing her once again. Either the Queen put him up to it, or more likely Hook, knowing she was connected to Rumple wanted her to torment Rumple, and then somehow Hook gave Belle to Regina in exchange for something else. So off Gold goes to assemble the possee of Charming and Moe to find Belle and get her back, proving his love for her by working with her father since they have to work together to get her back.
The only fly in the ointment is I assumed Hook is in whatever is left of the Enchanted Forest because in the promo there is a pic of Emma having him in a headlock with a knife to his throat. I’m surprised he has a Storybrooke counterpart now after seeing that promo. But that scene could be after she returns to Storybrooke. We don’t know how many episodes are included in the clips.
But Emma isn’t set to be in this Ep???? There is another thread about it on here https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=1536&p=19680#p19680

I’m sorry, but this just sent me into a fit of giggles. ๐
Anywho, this whole Belle’s-undoing plot sounds very intriguing. I do wonder what will happen. It’s anybody guess, but I think it might be a break from her storyline with Gold/Rumpel. Perhaps she will have her own mystery/plot…I don’t doubt it might be connected to Hook.
October 4, 2012 at 2:12 am #155356JosephineParticipantI didn’t necessarily mean Emma was in the episode. Just that I think Hook isn’t in Storybrooke and he’s in Fairytale Land with Emma and the others. She doesn’t need to be in the episode at all.
I have no idea why Smee would attempt to kidnap Belle without Hook if Hook is stuck in Fairytale Land.
The best idea I’ve heard yet for Emma and Snow returning, although I know it’s not going to be in this episode, is them flying in on Hook’s ship into Storybrooke Harbor, like they do in the end of Peter Pan.

LOL- Now that would be awesome, but I think they’d have to be there all season to do it that way (unless they weren’t able to make fairy dust in SB at all) otherwise he could just take everyone backwards & forwards as they pleased which would be kind of a let down.
October 6, 2012 at 2:34 am #155628JosephineParticipantMaybe there is just enough fairy dust to get them to Storybrooke but none to get them back. That would solve the issue of going back and forth between worlds.

October 11, 2012 at 11:52 am #156346SlurpeezParticipantI have a multi-fascitated theory about this episode. Captain Hook once went by Killian Jones in FTL flashbacks. There’s a promotional picture of him in a tavern, where I think he convinced Milha, Rumpelstiltskin’s wife, to join his crew of pirates. Milha is described as a bored housewife who longed for adventure and was often in her local tavern. This all happened when Baelfire was too young to remember, and Rumpel convinced himself that Milha was kidnapped rather than believe she willing left him and Bae. Perhaps Milha had an ongoing affair with Killian Jones while Rumpel was in the Ogre War, and Killian is Bae’s biological father. Milha, disliking motherhood, finally decided to leave with Killian. Perhaps Killian and Milha traveled to Neverland together, where time stood still. Years later, Rumpel became the Dark One and got his revenge against Killian Jones, perhaps by marking his hand, which Killian then cut off to avoid being the wraith’s victim. From then on, he went by Captain Hook.
At first, I thought Beaman, who’s described as a trader of antiques, was going to be Captain Hook’s alias before he became infamous. Yet, since we learned Hook’s alias is Killian Jones, I now think Beaman could be Smee’s alias. We’ve seen images Smee kidnapping Belle outside the SB library (which I think is the meeting of an old acquaintance that could be Belle’s undoing). He might also go by Beaman, who could supply Mr. Gold with antiques and be a go-between Captain Hook and Rumplestiltskin, without Rumpel knowing it. Now that the curse is broken, Smee might recognize Belle from FTL, since I think that Captain Hook might’ve feigned an interest in Belle once, after she left Rumpel in 1×12. We saw her hanging out in a dwarf tavern in 1×14 (which sounds very similar to Milha’s story), where I think Belle met Captain Hook. It’s possible that Hook enticed Belle, who said she wanted to see to the world, to join him on his ship. Hook might’ve known about Belle and Rumpel’s rocky relationship, and so he invited Belle to join his expedition. He eventually handed over Belle to Regina as revenge for his hand being cut off.
Finally, I think that when the Dark Curse was unleashed, all of the different realms of FTL were mixed together so that several Wonderland and Neverland characters wound up in the Enchanted Forest. Perhaps Captain Hook was therefore stuck in the remanent of present-day EF and we’ll see Emma and Snow White meet him (I think he’s the survivor of the Ogre war mentioned in 2×5 synopsis). Captain Hook may even take a romantic interest in a feisty modern-day woman like Emma, since he’s described as a ladies’ man. At first, he’ll seem an antagonist that we all know him as, but I also think that Hook is going to be instrumental in getting them back to SB. In the Disney version of Peter Pan, we saw Hook’s enchanted ship to fly to early 20th-century London. We know that the actor who plays Hook has been promoted to a series regular for the last 9 episodes to S2. So, I think we’ll eventually seen Killian Jones come to SB, and perhaps even see him take on Rumpelstiltksin in the name of revenge for the dark curse.

I think you just outlined the entire episode! ๐ Very good theories, and I think you’re right too. Especially about Rumpel marking Hook with the medalion. That would be an interesting twist on how Hook lost his hand. And I’d be interested to see if Belle ever knew Hook or Smee before she was kidnapped. Maybe Hook did have something to do with it.

lol, I think slurpeez totally outlined the entire episode too.
I especially like the part about how Hook delivering Belle to Regina. I would hope that there was more to that throwaway scene in “Dreamy” especially as many fans, at least on the Internet, feel that is one of the worst episodes because “nothing happened”, and Hook meeting Belle at the tavern totally makes sense. Plus, it’s another parallel/contrast between Milah(*) and Belle then.
I wonder what happened to Milah then if she went off to Neverland with Hook. I really hope that she doesn’t come back, not because I think she’d be any threat to Rumbelle, but because there’s already so much parent drama going on especially if Bae turns out to be Henry’s father that I don’t really think they need to bring back Milah again. Plus, if they brought her back later on to face Bae and if there’s a possibility that Hook is really Bae’s father, then I think it puts too much focus on Bae rather than Emma. Not that he’s not a major player in the story, but that might be a little too much to have his mom come back, and potentially his biological dad come back, and also have to deal with his other father drama and his other father’s new girlfriend.
So I like Josephine’s idea since it makes Milah look a little bit more sympathetic and because it solves the problem of the family drama being on Bae instead of Henry and Emma, which is just having her come to regret her decision to leave her child, and then trying to go back but either Hook kills her during an argument or she gets killed when trying to go back to her home.
*-I wonder if she was supposed to be Milah all along and the casting call spelled the name wrong or the synopsis and casting sheet spelled her name wrong. I would think the former because the casting calls often try to fool fans by using fake names for upcoming characters. Plus, Milah sounds more like Miller to me than Milha does if the theory is true that Rumple targeted Cora or Regina’s father because they might have been related to Milah. (Of course, I don’t like that theory either because then Bae and Regina would be related in some way, and that’s too easy of a way out to have Regina not be able to seduce Bae because I know if they’re not related she will, not that it will work, but it won’t stop her from trying.)

I just had a little splodey brain moment. Wonder if Rumple got the time-not-advancing curse ingredient from Neverland, when he went after Killian/Hook?

That’s an interesting possibility! I haven’t really given much thought to any larger scope for Smee’s character, but I like this.
Some really cool ideas there! I’ll take that and tweak a bit of it, and suggest that if Belle knew Smee from FTL, taking the go-between antiques dealer theory into consideration, perhaps they knew each other through Rumple, as opposed to through Hook. If Smee was a business associate of Rumple’s, chances are he came to the house during the time Belle was there.
I do love that parallel of Belle in the tavern and Milha in the tavern. Nice catch!
