Tamara = Mombi, the wicked witch of the south, who was defeated and deposed by Glinda and who got screwed out of her magic when she was exiled from Oz (I think in the Oz books she was turned into a rose and/or then exiled to the Nome kingdom but whatevs).
Saw this on comments on a webpage what to you think? ❓

Tamara won’t beat Rumple in a physical confrontation. However I can see her being sneaky and manipulative and using Neal against Rumple. if Tamara sets it up for Neal to walk in at the exact moment when it looks like Rumple is in the wrong, Rumple would be at a disadvantage. Who is Bae more likely to believe, his estranged father who has form for doing nasty things to people for poorly justified reasons or Tamara, his beloved fiancee?
I could see her trying to fan a rift between Rumpel and Neal if it suited her. I don’t think it would right now, because Neal is her cover. If she wants Rumpel to trust her, then being willing to cheat on his son probably would not make a good impression.
Anyway, I don’t think Tamara and Greg have everything planned out and are adapting on the fly. Greg must have seen August make a trip to and out of SB (before he returned when Emma was there) and they started following him. They used him to get the magic potion from the Dragon. When Tamara saw Neal, she decided to find out who he was. We know of course that August was going to vanish inside SB for awhile, so she probably decided at that point to start working her wiles on Neal, to give her an excuse in case August came back or something else happened to let them into SB.

Just had a thought. What if Tamara makes a play for Rumple? He’s powerful and she may think being close to him may grant her easier access to his power. Only Rumple won’t be interested in her because he has Belle so Tamara sets it up to look like Rumple came on to her or is threatening her just as Bae walks in. Tamara then plays the beloved fiancee card and Bae and Rumple’s relationship suffers as a result. What Tamara hasn’t counted on though is Belle taking offense to Tamara setting up her man like that. Belle vs Tamara- Neither one has magic so it would be more of a fair fight and it would be a great opportunity to show why it isn’t a great idea to mess with Belle or Rumple.
I could agree, even though I don’t want to…I don’t want that to happen! Sneaky Tamara. Ahahaha that would be weird…walking in on that. Not often your dad goes for your girl. 🙄 😆
Ha…..I feel so sad for Neal. But I do think that this relationship will involve Rumple soon.
What I want to happen:
Hi I’m Rumple. You’re a jerk. I don’t like you. *zap* Now you are a frog. Go kiss a prince! Wait! What about… haha what about she could be the frog princess girl? What was her name? uhh….Tiana! Thats interesting. What do you guys think about that? She told August she wasn’t Magical, but neither are a lot of storybrooke people. Possibly…I know there is a lot against that theory. Haha I don’t actually think that, just to be clear. I’m still on board with the Tiger Lily thing, I think. 🙂

Also again, can’t Emma tell when Tamara lies?
It has been theorized a few times on this podcast that when Emma is emotional, her lie detector ability seems to fail. And she was emotional, with that strange “I will not let this happen in vain!” line, before she walked home with Henry, ignoring the police station. 😆 (Actually, so did David. And he’s the acting sheriff 😯 )
Tamara must have witnessed the Blue Fairy restoring August to Pinocchio. And Emma kinda yelled at Neal about “the whole world knowing about magic in our town.” So Emma is aware that Tamara witnessed magic. Maybe Emma will use her power as Sheriff to intimidate Tamara and get her to leave town.

Tamara does not seem like the type to be intimidated, but I am not sure she prefers to avoid confrontation. She was willing to let August take her car and leave SB, when she tried to bribe him to leave, but showed no hesitation with the Dragon. Now I am not sure what reason the writers have within the story for why she did not just magic zap him right away. The meta reason of course is so we get that dramatic redemption back to boy moment.

Thats another thing that I have been trying to figure out. She was following August and she sees him in New York. I am assuming that she had no clue who Neal was. Did she hear what they were talking about because she seemed awfully far away for that to be possible. Why didnt she just follow Neal like August. Whats with the elaborate scheme?
March 29, 2013 at 4:28 pm #183104PriceofMagicParticipantNeal was more likely to lead her to magic and let things slip if she was close to him and it worked, Neal invited her to Storybrooke.
All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of FelixMarch 29, 2013 at 7:17 pm #183144ZieraParticipantMaybe she did know somehow who Neal was, or at least that he was magical or whatever. Maybe there was more to that story…maybe she was there when August was telling neal to leave Emma alone.

March 31, 2013 at 4:07 pm #183479ChrisParticipantI like the theory that she will cause the rift between Rumple and his son to deepen again. Especially if you take into account, that Tamara means lotus flower in its Indian version of the name and in the language of flowers it means estrangement.
On the other hand, there is also a celtic water goddess of that name, which might her put into the direction of Ursula.- You know what the issue is with this world. Everyone wants a magical solution for their problems, and everyone refuses to believe in magic.” - Jefferson
