I know, right?! I was thinking what the heck is she doing, it’s just a taser. But my guess is that she modified it to absorb magic. I wonder if it would work on a non-magical person?
Oh and I wonder since it seemed to kill magical beings, does it also kill people with magical abilities or does it take their magic or just destroy it?

My guess is that the “taser” has the power to work against magic. She had the magic in the vial to experiment on, after all. I think we’re going to see more science vs. magic very soon!
I think she will use it on Rumple or Regina…they will loose their powers…or memories of their powers.
She can taz Regina all she want. But don’t she dare to touch Rumpel or undo his magic 👿

Hate to go all serious here, but a taser is a serious weapon. “Non-lethal” options open to law enforcement are not always non-lethal and something designed to inflict a lot of pain is certainly not safe.

She has experimented on magical items, she has this thing that can kill magical beings – logical answer is that is kills them by removing their essential spark of magic.

The writers obviously like that people are questioning it. Clearly it’s something that appears to be a real world item, so she can freely carry it around, but it’s actually something else they intend to reveal later, because revealing what it is right now would have given away something about her character they’re not ready to show yet.
March 25, 2013 at 12:59 pm #182120RumplesGirlKeymasterThank to everyone who put the writers tweets into this thread. The taser REALLY bothered me last night.
I wanna see her go at Rumple with that thing. He’ll handle her. 👿

Of course, Carlyle said that in ep 22 there was a gamechanger between Gold and Neal, and now I'm wondering if it's not Henry but Tamara that Rumple does something horrible to, and Neal can't forgive him for it.

I want a little bit of Swanfie and some bonding time for Rumple and his grandson, that when he later has too choose his undoing or his Grandson that he choose Henry over power. That would be his redemption and Neal could truly forgive his father. 🙂 (Evrybody get his Happy Ending)

March 25, 2013 at 4:34 pm #182164beastwhispererParticipantI’m doing better with the idea of the taser after reading all the tweets and theories here. Still don’t think it played too well during initial viewing, but maybe they can make it work better with more info.
There was a guy over in NY state in 2011 whose death made the news after he was tasered repeatedly during a rampage at a gym. He later went into cardiac arrest and died at the hospital. He was hit about 5 times, and the video was shown on tv. It caused lots of local news stories about his potential death from taser and police procedure around where I live. For a time the news was all about his death by taser. Then the autopsy finally came back saying the cause of death was actually agitated delirium related to his PCP use. Still tons of news stories come up to this day in a search attributing the poor man’s death to being tasered repeatedly. Tasers can certainly be dangerous, but normal tasers wouldn’t have the death rate and effect that Tamara’s device was shown with. Not by a longshot.
I get the impression that the gamechanger between Neal and Rumple is positive rather than negative from the way Robert phrased his comment. Perhaps, Rumple loses his power to Tamara’s taser while defending Henry. Then Henry is his “undoing” and Neal has a reason for his relationship with Rumple to improve.

Absolutely! It didn’t bother me that much because so far it hasn’t really stymied anyone that we know who can actually perform magic. August was a magical being but he couldn’t really fight back. I’d like to see her try to do it to Rumple. Just try it.
March 25, 2013 at 5:25 pm #182190KebParticipantI’m still hoping for TLK to cure Rumple of the Dark One curse, but…yeah, hopeless Rumbelle fangirl here.
