Yeah, and your mother isn’t going to not recognize you. It just seems really weird that they would be separated that long. Why wouldn’t Henry go look for Regina and Emma? I just don’t think it makes very much sense.

Seriously, how in the world has Regina not seen Henry as an adult? That is awful. Does that mean that Emma, Snow, and Charming haven’t seen Henry in twenty years either? That is messed up.
Yeah I don’t get this. So no one went looking for Henry during those 20 years? No one tried to get to the EF/other realms to search for him? They just… “oh well. He’s off finding his story. Sure he’s cool!” If they only go to him when Henry asks for help (post meeting Cindy) that’s just sorta…really messed up. You can’t convince me that Regina would be okay without seeing her child for 20+ years. Also, worth pointing out but people don’t change *that* radically from 18 to 35ish. I mean, I still look pretty darn close to how I did in high school and any differences aren’t massive enough to not recognize me.

They did say, though, that there are no plans to bring JMo back outside that one episode (702) and JMo has repeatedly said that she’d only come back for one–which she has now done–so while it could be written as separation, it could also be something more dire. It largely depends on circumstance of how actors/writer/money things shake out.
They said they have no current plans at the moment. But they’re only on episode 5. If anything they would need to get JMO back for the finale. I don’t think Emma is killed. For one Hook wouldn’t be able to feel that if she was. What he’s feeling is Emma and probably their child that he’s separated from.
Plus it would be horrible for Hook to wake up from the curse and realize Emma is dead, that would be too much.
Except Jennifer and the producers said Emma would only be in one episode and that is over.
This. They already said JMO will be in one episode and that’s it.
I don’t think she’s dead and I do think Hook is feeling a missing piece of his true life, like, for example, Snow was in SB. That feeling that something is wrong but can’t put your feeling on it. Of course for Hook it’s Emma, maybe even some familiarity with Henry, but yeah. I doubt Emma is dead. But we know she won’t return from her one episode.
Guess JMO was really ready to bounce outta this show and I don’t blame her.

No, they straight up said “nope” when asked if there were plans for JMo to return for more than one episode. Doesn’t mean that plans can’t be made at some point in the future, but let’s not add words into A and E’s mouth.
For one Hook wouldn’t be able to feel that if she was. What he’s feeling is Emma and probably their child that he’s separated from.
He wouldn’t be able to feel loss or like something is “off” if she was dead? Only if they are separated? That’s not how emotions work.
Plus it would be horrible for Hook to wake up from the curse and realize Emma is dead, that would be too much.
Sure it would be gut wrenching. But it would also be–from A and E’s perspective–a good story full of angst, drama, heartache, loss, and learning to live and love again. Something they’ve done countless times before.
Personally, I’m not sure Emma is dead but they need to come up with a fairly reasonable excuse for why she’s not with the rest of the gang helping Henry, especially since we know Adult!Henry sends for his family to help him in UniverseB EF. Why didn’t Emma go? And why isn’t she looking for Hook, Rumple, Regina and Henry *now* after this new curse was cast? She was a bail bonds person and then a sheriff on top of being a magical Savior. To not have her help Henry first and then to not have her actively looking for her family would be…bizarre.
And from that perspective–the needing to solve the elephant in the room perspective–it’s easier to have had her die at some point during the 20 yr gap. The alternative is to constantly wrangle with that question and come up with some lame hand wave excuse (she’s off screen looking for her family but we never check in with her and for some reason she’s unable to find anyone even though one of her hallmark traits is being able to find people).

1) It’s not a royal crown–just a decorative headpiece
2) Drizzy married a prince against her will (she’s the LGBT character) and is now a princess in the AnotherRealm!Enchanted Forest
