Participant-Emma and Walsh are in a relationship for 8 months when we meet him.
– We will indeed find out who is Walsh and it’s strongly suggested he’s a flying monkey.
– Neal and Belle discuss the dagger
– Rumple is not in the episode
– Archie turns back into a cricket, and he just chirps. Grumpy understands him.
– Hook is the pivotal character in a lot of the episode. Hook’s action cause more things to happen then anybody else.
– Hook and Charming share some great moments and scenes. Especially one involving a horse.
– Hook and Walsh share a scene together.
– We do see Hook look jealous, but he’ll never admit it.
– There is a very nice reset in the show because of something that happens between Henry and Emma, that’s cool from a narrative standpoint.
– Henry and Hook do share interactions.
– Hook vs The Modern World: bologna, the criminal justice system, etc.
– Regina and Snow share a very tender moment.
– Belle had about 2 lines in the entire episode and one of them is very important to remember because it may be a clue.
– Regina doesn’t see the tattoo when Robin and her meet. There is interaction with them.
– There is a comment about how cute Robin is.
-Little John and Regina share interaction in the episode, and it’s very sassy.
– There are several great Captain Swan moments. The best relationship development in the episode is between Hook and Emma.
– There’s pining w/ Neal in the beginning for Emma, but a talk with Charming and Snow stops him.

I’m still in shock that the ONE crazy headcanon that surfaced on a whim over the hiatus turns out to be true…
Archie turns back into a cricket, and he just chirps. Grumpy understands him.
O_o Okay? That’s..odd
Regina and Snow share a very tender moment.
Ooooh. Sounds interesting
Belle had about 2 lines in the entire episode and one of them is very important to remember because it may be a clue.
Must be about how they never saw the dagger
Little John and Regina share interaction in the episode, and it’s very sassy.
I am going to die of laughter when the “he smells of forest” line is to LJ and not RH

Participantah, i think its cool that Grumpy understands the cricket. kinda sad, kinda cool. I LOVE barbara. great little minispoilers. i feel like ive already watched the episode. very sad that Belle doesnt have much screen time, but isnt that how it usually goes for her. Sad that Neal gives up so easily. He said he would fight for her, and I hope he does. Hook gets all the screen time, who woulda guessed that, hes filmed almost every episode.
not sure if this is depressing or not. I had hoped for more from both Belle and Neal. But im looking forward to hearing Belle’s clue.February 25, 2014 at 12:20 am #247606Phee
ParticipantHaven’t had a chance to listen to her podcast yet, so thanks for the cliff notes, kranen! 🙂
Regina doesn’t see the tattoo when Robin and her meet.
Thank you Jesus! Here’s hoping it stays that way until after she’s actually fallen for him.
Sad that Neal gives up so easily. He said he would fight for her, and I hope he does.
I think he will, it’s just complicated, which I like, because I think it’ll add some layers to his relationship with Snowing. They’re both approaching this from the mindset of loving Emma and wanting her to be happy, they just have different ideas about what need to happen in order for Emma to have her happiness. We’ve discussed it a bit over in the SF thread, and something Heather posted was a great point – if Emma remains separated from her parents for forever, that means that Neal’s aim in leaving her back in the day ended up as a total fail, and all the years of sadness both of them went through was for nothing. At the end of the day, I don’t think Neal will be able to accept that, and he’ll pick himself up and try to find a way to get everyone reunited.

KeymasterSad that Neal gives up so easily. He said he would fight for her, and I hope he does.
Well according to TVLine, he has doubts because Snowing tell him that he can’t go after her because they want Emma to have her shot at a happy ending–which means away from all the crazy. They know that Emma thinks she never gets a day off and that she never gets to have “moments”. But another spoiler said not to count Neal out, so…we’ll just have to wait and see.

KeymasterA few more that got left out
1. Barbara Barnett (BB) has been very hard on Hook in the past, but she liked him in this episode. Clearly, our boy is doing well if he’s swaying people who haven’t liked him before.
2. Great scene between Regina and Snow that could’ve gone wrong if done a little differently; Regina is being almost motherly towards her.
3. Storybrooke will appear.
4. Aurora and Phillip appear as well.
5. Enchanted Forest scenes are all one year ago, and Emma exists only in the present, where 3A left off. So there are two timelines and characters that appear in both.
6. Walsh is a quiet, nice guy average joe who owns a furniture store (seemingly not a clue) and has been dating Emma for 8 months. Seems sweet and understanding—he proposes to her. Commentator went on to add, “Does [he] know Emma at all?”, implying it goes south. Emma’s still adverse to commitment.
7. Walsh has a scar on his neck—and he’s tied to Oz. He has a persona in the Enchanted Forest, BB won’t say if he’s a good or bad guy. BUT you’ll find out who he is in this episode.
9. Seemed to BB that the breaking of the curse didn’t work entirely; something’s off. There are things that Regina isn’t controlling, or certain things that didn’t get a reset button. (speculative)
12. Ginny is noticeably pregnant if you’re looking for it/know about it, but nothing is mentioned or made to seem in-plot.
13. BB is gonna have an article/preview out next week.
14. Zelena makes an appearance, but not until the last part of the episode. She says, “Regina may be evil, but I’m wicked.” She appears malicious and nasty.
15. Neal and the Charmings don’t deal well with being separated from Henry and Emma; Neal worse than others. But Regina misses Henry, Belle misses Rumple; all of these characters mourning loss is relevant.
6. “Sparky chemistry” between Hook and Emma.
17. BB now says she can be convinced of Captain Swan, after seeing this episode. She really liked him in this episode; very dashing and persistent and the pivotal character in a lot of the episode—his actions cause more things to happen than most.
CS moves the story and she really loved their interactions.
18. We don’t found how/when Hook came back for Emma yet/got to NYC, at least not in this episode.
19. We do learn that Hook really hates bologna. (cry)
20. Wraiths go unmentioned, and we don’t know how they saved Phillip yet. They’re keeping secrets from the main group, some we don’t know.
21. Hook and Charming have a great scene together that has to do with a horse. (“Use your imagination, knowing this is a family show.”) (A couple of great scenes actually)
22. We see Hook react to Walsh and they have a scene together. Hook is of course jealous, though he won’t admit it.
23. Henry is rather clueless, but BB doesn’t think his matchmaker-role plays a large part in the ep.
24. Really nice reset to the show, and something between Emma and Henry is really cool, just from a narrative standpoint.
25. Won’t say if Emma regains her memories or not.
26. Hook and Henry interact, BB doesn’t think it’s significant.
27. Lots of Hook vs the modern world. And vs bologna, the justice system…there are funny moments.
28. There seems to be an uneasy alliance between Regina and the Charmings; as of right now it’s established.
29. The premiere is not predictable. Nice twists and turns; she however was spoiler free going into the preview.
30. BB thinks the Zelena being Regina’s half-sister is plausible; the premiere suggests backstory between the two of them, but it doesn’t imply anything specific.
31. We see Regina’s castle.
32. The Dark Castle (Rumple’s) comes up, but she can’t say if we see it or not.
33. The CGI was really excellent in this episode; something that was seen before was redone really well in the Regina/Snow scene.
34. Belle only has a couple of lines in the episode, but one of them is really important, and a clue.
35. Regina doesn’t know who Robin is yet in this episode, in terms of the tattoo. There was a comment about how cute he is. (lol omg)
36. We see two sets and two props again that the commentator didn’t expect to see again. Two of the props were significant in an episode that has a city name.
37. There is a hot fudge sunday involved. (?i think that’s what i heard)
38. There was a reference to superhero powers. (likely her thing with lies)
39. There was blood in the episode.
40. There’s an interaction between Regina and Little John, and it’s very sassy.
41. There are several favorite CS moments, there’s a good Rumbelle moment, but it’s minor. There’s a lot of pining on Neal’s part, ST wise. Best relationship stuff is between Hook and Emma.

Keymaster7. Walsh has a scar on his neck—and he’s tied to Oz. He has a persona in the Enchanted Forest, BB won’t say if he’s a good or bad guy. BUT you’ll find out who he is in this episode.
omg. he’s totally a monkey. This is…I have no words. Emma Swan is dating a Monkey
Neal worse than others
I know many disagree so I won’t linger but my heart is already breaking. He’s my second favorite character for so many reasons that are deeply personal. I really love Neal.
8. We don’t found how/when Hook came back for Emma yet/got to NYC, at least not in this episode.
Blllllaaaaaah. What not?!

I’m worried that if that doesn’t get addressed in 312, it never will, and it will be another “How the freak did he get to and navigate NYC so easily,” situation. Only now we’ll have seen him do it twice.
Walsh has a scar on his neck—
What type of scar, I wonder? We’ve seen a neck scar before with Jefferson, but I’m guessing this one will be different.

Same. It’s *magic hand waving* which is becoming rather cringe worthy on this show. They better explain that one.

ParticipantI was upset at BB’s comments first – that Belle hardly had any lines – but then upon reflection, I’m thinking that while Belle may not have much screen time or many lines in 312, it appears that they are laying the groundwork for a pretty big storyline for her.
Gold is an enormous part of the show and we’re to think he’s dead……except that Belle does not and she’s going to do everything she can to find him. Maybe that’s why Bobby isn’t in 312 – we’re supposed to believe in BELLE; if she says her Rumple is alive, then he’s alive.
This is what Mandy from TV Source said in her asks:
She doesn’t have a lot to do, but her determination and hopefulness is wonderful
and that Belle is Strong and confident.
Marisa Roffman, from Give me My Remote, said that she really liked Belle’s biggest scene.
