‘Praimfaya’
– “I will be waiting. Under the floor.” Best line of the episode. This was a beautifully crafted scene, right down to the shout out to their Greek mythology loving mother. Just wonderful.
– Clarke getting left behind was being telegraphed from a mile away.
– “The time of the commanders is past. The time of the flame is over.” True, and yet, inspires nostalgia.
– Agree that Octavia’s self doubt is a reflection of her growing maturity.
– I loved Monty and Murphy’s relationship – so much bickering, sharing, caring.
– OMG, Emori and Echo’s faces when Raven started floating in zero G!! I wanted more of this!
– My respect for Clarke has multiplied exponentially after watching her scale that terrifyingly high tower!
– Loving Clarke’s new hairstyle!
– Jaha’s demise was very unsatisfying, given that we never even got to see him!!
– I am very curious to see the flashbacks next season!

Agree. Being a dork, I am tempted to start using that line myself.
I still think it is a little crazy that the writers have wiped out all of their world building in one go. The world building is the best part of this show and it is gone and that is crazy to me. It really feels like a mistake right now. I don’t really like the idea of them fighting people with technology. I liked the like lord of the flies way of the show more then people with guns, but we will see where they go with it. It is possible that this ship of prisoners docked with the ring and that Bellamy and the others are on that ship as well. I do like the idea of the grounders and skaikru being the wonkru and going against these new prisoners with technology, but not for it to just be all about the technology now. We will see, i guess.
I have mixed feelings about this. The grounder conflict was the meat of the show, but by the beginning of this season, it was beginning to grow old. So, I’m open to a new conflict next season. I just want it to be good.
Along with deaths, I’m wondering about births. We know that Skaikru had restrictions on birth (one per family) because of limited resources. You gotta wonder if the Bunker and the Ring have something similar set up and how that actually went down with every one. I find it hard to believe Octavia wouldn’t have strong feelings about putting in that kind of mandate under ground.
I was wondering about that too. There would be no way around this in the bunker, whether or not Octavia had strong feelings. It would be hard to enforce though; tough decisions would have to be made. We might even get a flashback of Octavia dealing with such a situation. As painful as it might be, it would be good character development for her to see it from the other side. It would bring that part of her story full circle.
As for the ring, the Skaikru kids would have birth control measures in place, I’d imagine. But Echo and Emori don’t. It’s hard to imagine any of them wanting to conceive in space though.
Overall, the finale was solid. Lots of good tension. I do agree that this season has been a bit back and forth. But it was ultimately better than I expected, after season 3.

I do agree that the grounder conflict was beginning to grow old, so it made sense to resolve that this season which they did, but they also wiped out everything else we know about the world too which is pretty insane. Though the thing that this show always does well is grow the world every year, so i am definitely willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. It just seems really insane and i am definitely on the fence about it.
Though, i am definitely of the mind that writing yourself into a corner is insanely interesting because then we get to watch what happens next. The Ouat writers always write scared, like they are too afraid to let go of things like the Evil Queen or the dark one power or Storybrooke and that is something that the 100 has never been afraid of. Real things happen to the characters that impact them as people like deaths and becoming leaders and killing people and loving people, and real things happen to the world that impact the environment in real ways, like destroying mount weather, dropping the arc, and now destroying Polis.
This show definitely has some major writing issues with the characters doing some bizarrely inconsistent things at time, like Clarke stealing the bunker and not wanting to open the door when Octavia won or just Bellamy’s entire storyline last season with him just shooting people and being with Pike. The world building is definitely the best part of this show and i like the characters even if they are at times inconsistent.

Well. I may just be right…

"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 26, 2017 at 6:37 pm #339304hjbauParticipantI think it makes sense to bring her on but she has not been interesting until this season. I didn’t even realize she was in the other seasons. I imagine they will reinvent the character a bit.
