I doubt Rumple or Belle have any idea whose house they were squatting in. You’d think that as cunning as Rumple is, he’d have better sense than just to live in a vacant house, especially one that contained such a powerful artifact as the sorcerer’s hat. Alarm bells should have gone off in his head as to who the owner of such a large estate could be and why it’s standing empty at present.
It would have been better if Rump and Belle got to the house, had their beautiful dance and honeymoon, etc, and then at some point later on while they are leaving, Rump just so happens to see the little box/hat thing, and then does his dagger trick. At which point he snatches it and urges Belle out of the house.
Also, I’m guessing Rumple is going to want to put Emma in the hat now too since she has a lot of power.
THIS IS BRILLIANT!!!! Emma is TL incarnate! The most powerful magic there is! With her inside the hat…Rump can do anything he wants…. :O oh dear….

Not sure how I feel about this…

Oh boy. Rumple did sort of make a threat against Emma in 4×4 to Hook should anything bad befall Belle…and both Rumple and the Snow Queen seem to know each other, and the Snow Queen seems to want Emma for some reason. Hopefully it’s nothing nefarious.

First the sorcerer is actually called “an old master of witchcraft/warlock” in the original poem, which I guess will not be important because they will focus on the Fantasia version and it seems the hat isn’t connected to witchcraft in any way.
But there is something else which the poem is known for in the German-speaking area, which even the English Wikipedia article mentions:Der Zauberlehrling is well known in the German-speaking world. The lines in which the apprentice implores the returning sorcerer to help him with the mess he has created have turned into a cliché, especially the line Die Geister, die ich rief (“The spirits that I called”), a garbled version of one of Goethe’s lines, which is often used to describe a situation where somebody summons help or uses allies that he cannot control, especially in politics.
So the line “The spirits that I called” stands for the entire situation when someone lose controle over the powers he played with or the powers he summoned.
Now I’m wondering if the entire Sorcerer’s hat thing might lead Rumple into such a “The Spirits I called” situation or if the sorcerer is also the writer of the storybook Regina might get into something like that. Just a though that just came into my mind.“There were thousands and thousands of forms of joy in the world, but that all were essentially one and the same, namely, the joy of being able to love.”
— from the Neverending Story by Michael EndeOctober 21, 2014 at 4:21 pm #286692PanTheManParticipantSo Emma getting sucked into the hat might be the charge of magic Rumple needs to make it work. To be honest, I love the drama of it all, but i would hate for Emma to get sucked into the hat.
A few thoughts I had…
Possibility #1: Rumple intends to put Emma in the hat, but doesn’t because those actions would risk him losing Belle.
Possibility #2: Rumple successfully traps Emma in the hat. If this were to happen, I imagine we would find out that there is actually an entire universe or world inside the hat, and characters inside the hat would be attempting to fight their way out. No doubt, if Emma got sucked into the hat, she’d either find a way out or be freed from it.
Possibility #3: Rumple intends to trap the Blue Fairy in the hat. This would be easier for him to hide from Belle. If Blue Fairy is as powerful as we all think, her magic added to the hat could be exactly what Rumple needs. Also, he hates fairies, so I think I see Blue Fairy going into the hat before Emma.
Also, should characters be released from the hat at some point, I’d be willing to bet that’s where the Black Fairy is.

Now that would be insane..
But what if the final ingredient is the Dark One?

Mmmm…but wouldn’t that suggest that the DC is stronger than TL, which in universe we’ve always been told is not true.

Hmm.. yeah, you may be right.
I just have this itchy feeling that Rumple is going to end up in that hat somehow. Messing with magical objects doesn’t usually end well for him. 🙂
