Idk if this is the place to discuss this but…. Blue said the author left clues to his whereabouts I side his works. Why didn’t we see any of that?
Besides that, I dont think the ink is normal old squid ink. I would hope its something more. Assuming it is though, does Hook still have thr ink Ursula got for him?

The author was inside the book behind a door (that was clearly a Jefferson hat door) Does that count? If it is just normal squid ink then it is awfully convenient that Hook just so happens to have some when the heroes need it most.

I hope the ink is something more but you know what this show is like with plot devices.

But where does that door lead? I mean he was trapped inside the book–so he was trapped inside a drawing of a door and necessarily a real world right? The world building lately has just confused me.

I don’t think he was in a “world”. He says he couldn’t reach the rum that was in his back pocket, so I think he was really trapped in a….compact form, tight space, door/closet place.

He was trapped in a cramped space… like a certain Genie we all know.

I think it’s just squid ink, not blood. That is why Ursula was introduced: squid ink is needed for the plot.

But Ursula has already gone and it doesn’t look like she’ll be back. Is she set to come back in any other episodes?

She can give the ink to the heroes without actually appearing. Off-Stagevill is a thing on OUAT

Yup, I was thinking the same thing.

Here’s a crack theory on the author.  The actor who plays the Author/Isaac said in a tweet he couldn’t give out the character’s last name because it would be too big of a spoiler. The only place that we’ve ever seen or heard the last name de Vil is on the front plate of the car which belonged to the author not Cruella.  They never said Cruella’s and her mother’s the last name’s in the epidode “Sympathy for the de Vil” and if you think about it the only person you really feel sorry for in the episode is the Author.  The Author it seems fell in love with Cruella, and she in her sick way, probably felt the same – keeping the car, the jewels & his last name, but hating him for taking away her ability to kill (remember there’s a very fine line between love & hate) but still showing love by using his last name.  IF the author is Isaac de Vil – it would make him the “DeVil” tampering with fate versus the Sorcerer (“God”) and if you add Emma (“Savior”) plus Lily (“AntiSavior”) – you have an EPIC battle in the making.

But Cruella didn’t love him. She was using him.

I think it makes sense Cruella would do if she were actually in love with him, to honor him. Sort of like what Rose did in Titanic. She obviously loved Jack and that’s why she became Rose Dawson..
