Hmm well we never really got closure on why Cinderella’s fairy godmother “won’t be missed” or whatever it was that Rumple said about her after he took her wand from her. Maybe she and this Black Fairy are somehow connected. It’s a different wand, but maybe there’s a league of not-so-nice fairies wandering around making trouble for everyone.

…..Assuming you aren’t saying that due to the term “Black” Fairy and the godmothers race, I think that while ita possible, its unlikely. That fairy was working for king Georges family for awhile according to Rumpel. I think if she knew anything Blue would have gotten rid of her. Or rump would have interrogated her, not kill her on the spot. I think rump just wanted her wand for the Cinderella deal.

What did the Black Fairy do to be banished/exiled?

The way Tink said it, it sounds like the Black Fairy is still very much alive out in the real world.

So, that rules out the FGM and Mal.

Vidia maybe? She wasn’t an evil fairy in the films but she sort of a B word to Tink >> she was a wind fairy and the only fairy I can think of in the Disney series who wore black-ish type clothes

Black Fairy is Blue’s Sneaky alter ego

Dunno what if anything this could mean, but Blue’s wand and the BlackFairy’s wand are pretty much identical in design, apart from colour. Tink’s is also almost identical, apart from colour. So I wonder if all of those wands are linked and/or come from the same place? If the black wand belonged to WWW, they could do a mashup of Blue with Glinda, and say that there are 4 wands that look the same, that came from Oz. That doesn’t account for why Tink would have one of said wands of course, but hers IS green, which is a colour associated with Oz.

I think we’re looking at some sort of power play. Maybe they were co-rulers of the fairies, identical wands and all. And then Blue wanted all the power for herself or something.

Why are there different branches if there is only one place to get wands…

Theories off the top of my head:

    • Black Fairy is Blue’s Sneaky alter ego
    • Black Fairy is Maleficent pre-dragon-shape-shifting-witch days
    • Black Fairy is a new character
    • Black Fairy is an alter ego of the Wicked Witch of the West
    • Black Fairy is a buddy/ally of WWW/Maleficent/Regina/Rumple/Cora/Pan/Shadow

I like #2 the best. Or #1, for obvious reasons!

Or the Black Fairy is Morgan le Fay (la fée is French, meaningfairy).

Judging by the promo for 3×12, I think that the Wicked Witch of the West might be the Black Fairy. Although her skin is green, she dresses in all black.

I agree not only because of that but also we know the next big bad is the WWW. They wouldn’t make someone else the black fairy on top of the WWW for big bad villainness. It’s not a coincidence that they first mention the Black Fairy in the same episode where we get the WWW promo
