Rumple will be redeemed, I have no doubt : he took two big steps forward recently (expressing his love for Belle and asking Bae’s forgiveness). We viewers are so heavily invested in his future that the writers would have to be heartless to deny us that change, but we’re going to have a long wait (hopefully! I want at least 5 more years of Once). And until we see for sure, I’m holding out hope that his apparent backsliding isn’t what it seems …although I have to admit, it looks really bad right now. It will probably take a Locke-type sacrifice to bring Rumple round, but if stubborn Jack Shepard can change, so can resourceful Rumple.

Between separating all the people that you’ve mentioned, not telling Bae about True Love’s kiss, and lying to Prince Charming and Snow White about the wardrobe, well, I personally don’t trust her!
She’s suppose to be a “good” fairy, and she’s portrayed as a nun…. yet she withholds important information like the wardrobe and true love’s kiss.
I don’t know, as people have mentioned it might be because getting rid of “dark” magic is the “right” thing to do, but at the end of the day it’s going back to the original question of “do the ends justify the means?”

I’m beginning to have doubts about whether she wanted to get rid of dark magic! She could have done so with no muss, no fuss by telling Bae about the kiss, and everyone in FTL would’ve been better off. Unless it’s a yin-yang thing (Dark magic has to exist for good magic to exist) or unless there was something that the universe needed Rumple to do (like create the curse) that he could do only while he had dark magic…

I don’t trust her either!
The Blue Fairy knew about the Dark Curse, that Rumpel was going to spend centuries perfecting it and she doesn’t say anything to anyone that maybe it could be used later to wreak vengeance on everyone? That doesn’t sound like ‘good’ to me.

Hmm… :geek:

Seriously, she’s got quite a rap sheet:
- Separated Rumple and Baelfire
- Separated Nova and Grumpy
- Separated Geppetto and Pinnochio
- Separated Emma and parents (Snow/Charming)
I agree with you about the BF. I don’t trust her. But as far as Geppetto and Pinocchio were concerned though, Geppetto made the decision after the BF told him that Snow White was going into labor early to send Pinnochio to the other world anyway.
I agree with everthing on the list execpt for separating Emma from her parents. That was entirely Geppetto’s doing. He extorted safe passage for Pinnochio in order to make the wardrobe, otherwise he was not going to do it. Given BF did not do enough to fix it but nevertheless blame for this falls completely on Geppetto and not BF. Besides you have to give this one to the BF.
June 2, 2012 at 8:25 pm #148211hjbauParticipantDidn’t Geppetto want to be separated from Pinocchio?
And Rumpel let go of Bae. The Blue Fairy wanted them to go together. She didn’t want Rumpel to stay behind. She wanted him to leave with his dark magic.
June 2, 2012 at 8:33 pm #148212thedarkoneParticipantThe only shady aspect about the Blue Fairy is the possibility of her writing the book. If she did in fact write the book, then why did she leave out so much? Her meeting Rumpel (and much of Rumpel’s story) and her role in Pinocchio’s story. If she did write the book, I’m curious as to why she left those parts out. As far as her role in Pinocchio’s story, I could see her leaving out her part in it all. Even though Geppetto lied to Snow and Charming about the wardrobe, the Blue Fairy went along with it. She facilitated it. She sat there and lied to Snow and Charming’s face. Snow and Charming would be just as angry at her as they would be with Geppetto. In fact, they may even have a little sympathy for Geppetto. They would probably understand his desire to save his child, given the fact that Snow and Charming were trying to do the same thing.
June 3, 2012 at 12:08 am #148221hjbauParticipantI certainly agree that Snow, Charming, and Emma have every right to be angry at Geppetto and the Blue Fairy for lying to them,
June 3, 2012 at 2:13 am #148229charmingParticipantI agree that the BF is a part of the plan to only send one but only because she had to agree to Geppetto’s terms or else everyone gets cursed. Had she told the truth then they would have wasted all their time fighting each other rather then get the job done and to send Emma and Pin thru. Geppetto is entirely to blame for this. BF guilty after the fact and being extorted.

If August is alive next season, I want to see a scene where Snow & Charming realize that Geppetto lied and who August really is. and maybe confront them both about it.
