What happened here? I’m normally more a lurker because I don’t have much to add to all of your incredible theories, but this thread has been dead for days now. Where did everyone go? 🙁

It’s the mini hiatus and no Once episode tonight.
Nothing new to talk about.
Here are some pretty CS fan videos.

ParticipantWell, that was a long boring week. Even tumblr was slow. Hopefully ABC will give us some good sneak peeks soon. Here are some smoochies to keep everyone happy until then.

ParticipantLots of holiday action in the States, also winter setting in and causing some chaotic days in some places, a break in the ONCE action, a bit of weariness with the same, incessantly unappealing approaches of some postings, and general mid season blues would all lead to some slowdowns.
The cyclical nature of message boards everywhere 🙂 You wear out for a bit, then re-energize.
I think also, specifically relating to our beloved couple, small steps are wonderful and often heart satisfying but a big “reveal” and advancement in their air time is next to impossible with the sheer amount of storytelling that is taking place in the time they have. We are, as seen above, collecting some lovely visual moments . (Thank-you!) But after awhile you hunger for a meal not a snack ( grin) and fantasy can be greedy.
In the interim, we go into a quieter mode to keep ourselves attached to our individual realities!
All the story lines suffer when there is just too much happening. And there IS just too much happening!! There is no answer or remedy either, without some faction of the massive fandom being verbosely angry. TV combined with the Internet media frenzies creates an overload, at times, of obsessive speculation, rampant opinion and for the creators of all these shows, big headaches. The process of “Entertainment” is never calm.
It will all be back to normal chatting business, soon!
To everyone in the States, may you be able to be thankful for whatever brings you joy in your life as Thanksgiving approaches. To the rest of the globe… Hug yourself, breathe and be at peace!

ParticipantHey guys! I’m writing a OUAT fic and I was wondering if you could help me? It’s been a while since I’ve last written fanfic so I might be a little rusty. I’ve got a scene featuring Hook, Emma and Henry and it involves Henry getting Hook and Emma to go out so that he can be left home alone. Can you give me your opinions on it please? Do you think the characters are in-character? Also I’m trying to balance Henry with getting Hook to convince Emma to go out (because I need them out) without making Hook seem a bit thick or it being too plot devicey. Also, is a can of whipped cream a thing in America? The scene is below:
Henry sat alone on his bed in the apartment he shared with his mom, staring at the piece of parchment in his hand. Tonight was the night. After weeks of planning and preparation that involved collecting ingredients, deciphering another language and making sure nobody suspected anything; there was one last obstacle in his way. Henry knew if Operation Phoenix was to be a success, he had to get his mom and Killian out of the apartment for a few hours. Putting the stolen spell from his grandfather’s shop into his pocket, Henry quietly opened his bedroom door and peered out. His mom was sat on the sofa watching Good Evening Storybrooke.
“Emma! Where’s the beer?” Killian called from the kitchen.
“It’s in the fridge!” replied Emma.
“I’m looking in the fridge. It’s not here!” Killian hoped Emma hadn’t forgotten the beer when she went shopping, he’d written it on the list like she’d asked.
“Try the bottom shelf at the back!” Emma could hear Killian moving things in the fridge. “Did you find it?”
Killian managed to lay his hand on a bottle. “Yeah”
“Good. Bring me one too!” laughed Emma.
Making his move, Henry silently tiptoed into the kitchen. Out of earshot of Emma, he sidled up to the fridge where Killian was investigating a can of whipped cream. “I think you should take mom for a meal at Granny’s”.
Killian looked up at the boy and arched his eyebrow in surprise. “Really?”
“Yeah. You and mom should spend some time alone together. You know, when you’re not having to fight villains, or Storybrooke is about to be destroyed. You deserve it, plus mom’s not been out on a date in a while.” Henry noticed Killian had resumed staring at the whipped cream with a puzzled expression. “What’s wrong?”
“How do they get the whipped cream into the can?” Killian questioned, turning the can upside down to see if there was a secret compartment where the makers would pour the cream in.
“I don’t know” answered Henry; he needed to refocus Killian’s attention to the task at hand. “So what do you think?”
Killian looked at him again. “About what?”
“About taking Mom for a meal at Granny’s so you two can spend some time alone together!” Henry tried not to sound exasperated. Killian had no idea how important it was for Operation Phoenix’s success that he take the bait, though that didn’t make it any less frustrating.
“I think that sounds like a grand idea, Henry” Killian replied, thinking it over. Emma had been reluctant to let him move in to the apartment because she was worried how Henry would react. Now that the boy had all but given them his blessing, there was no reason why he couldn’t take his relationship with her to the next level. “Wait here”.
Henry watched as Killian went back into the living room and waited with bated breath. Operation Phoenix hung in the balance and it all relied on Killian convincing his mom to go out.
“He actually said that? Why?” Emma couldn’t quite believe what Killian was telling her.
“Does it matter why? The point is he wants us to spend time together, it means he’s accepted us. This is a good thing!” Killian could feel the excitement starting to build in his stomach.
“Alright” agreed Emma “but I want to be back by ten at the latest”.
“As you wish” Killian said, causing Emma to playfully smack his shoulder. He had no idea why those particular words always caused a positive reaction from Emma, but as long as they remained doing so, he would continue to use them.
“Henry, come here” Emma called as she got up from the sofa with Killian.
Henry emerged from the kitchen and approached the sofa with trepidation. It was decision time.
“Killian and I are going out for a few hours” Emma informed him. “You remember the ground rules?”
“Don’t answer the door, no scary movies, lights out by ten, and stay in the house” Henry recited without skipping a beat.
“That’s my boy” Emma smiled. “There’s some leftover pizza in the fridge if you want it, though after that big lunch your grandparents fed you earlier, I’m surprised you can even move”.
Henry grinned. “Grandma said I’m a growing boy that needs sustenance”.
“Did she now?” Emma said through gritted teeth. With the way her mom would always tell her that Henry needed to eat more, anyone would think he was being starved since they moved out of her parents’ place.
“We need to get going, love” Killian reminded from the doorway.
“Be good” Emma instructed, as she hugged Henry goodbye.
“I will” replied Henry as his mom and Killian left the apartment, closing the front door behind them. He waited for the sound of his mom’s car leaving the parking lot and breathed a sigh of relief. Operation Phoenix was a go.

I haven’t posted, in a while. Hi, everybody!
I agree with all said above and with that said, wish OUAT would wrap things up and produce a new series featuring the Charmings, Killian, Emma, Henry, Regina (Henry’s other Mom), and if applicable, Robin and Roland (assuming a corrected timeline regarding Marian); all focused on that family unit, and thier adventures. No parades of character gimmicks (fun, as Frozen was) taking focus and development away from the core cast. Given it’s popularity, I don’t believe anyone can credibly argue against a program focused on Hook and Emma (and the family surrounding them) would be appealing to a large audience. I would love to see Colin O’Donoghue take that role again if this were to happen, but if he didn’t take it, then doesn’t the character belong to ABC? As such, I’d see no problem recasting a dashing and charismatic replacement, one of which I am sure is out there to suffice.
I don’t know what is in store for Once’s story for the remainder of the series, but where Captain Swan is concerned, not taking full advantage of that potential brings Phil Collins’ song “Throwing it All Away” to my mind. Why “pave paradise to put up a parking lot”? If the story can be altered to allow it (if needed), I hope this will not be missed. That would be a terrible shame, and a huge disappointment for people like me.

ParticipantObviously I can only speak for myself, but I’ve been liking the show less and less lately. I love the CS stuff, and the Frozen stuff, but the insane way they’re treating Regina is steadily eating away at any enjoyment I could possibly get from the show. The Snow-Regina interactions in this last episode made me want to throw up. I mean first of all, Snow tells Regina it’s okay to sleep with a married man because hey, she was “with” a married man at one point too! But Snow’s “with” is a picnic date and a couple of kisses, not an affair. And here’s the kicker: Snow and Charming were ALREADY MARRIED in reality the whole time! They were kept apart for 28 years because of REGINA! The only reason Snow/Mary Margaret felt guilty like that was because of Regina’s curse! It makes no sense to see her comparing THAT to what Regina and Robin are doing! (Although granted, I think the marriage part is more Robin’s responsibility than Regina’s since he’s the one who made the vows.) I mean ignoring the fact that Snow was kept away from HER HUSBAND–and in fact made to cheat on and be cheated on by her own husband–by this woman in a sickening sort of rape by proxy (the curse took away their knowledge and ability to consent) is just entirely ridiculous!
And let’s not forget that the woman whose husband Regina is sleeping with literally sacrificed everything to stop Regina from MURDERING SNOW. I mean come ON, how the heck can Snow’s loyalty be toward the woman who tried many times to MURDER HER instead of the woman who gave her life (in the original timeline) to prevent that murder?! And of course the only reason Robin was away from Marian long enough to fall for that atrocious woman was that Regina MURDERED HER TOO in the original timeline, or attempted to in the new one. Marian lost her husband’s love (not that he ever deserved her, clearly) and several years of her son’s life to protect Snow from Regina as well. It makes no sense at ALL that Snow’s sympathies would lie with Regina and not Marian. Oh, and we have another lovely example of Snow blaming herself for being a “brat” (which she wasn’t by the time she met Regina, as evidenced in 215) in order to absolve Regina of responsibility for years of torture and torment.
Then we have Regina finally sort of acknowledging that she emotionally abused Henry, but she made it sound like it was just a well-intentioned mistake instead of a calculated move to literally drive her son insane in order to keep her curse intact. Not to mention that we know for a FACT that she doesn’t regret ANYTHING, like she said in Neverland. She never would’ve gotten out of that tree otherwise. And that stuff that I listed was all just in this last two-hour episode, not even touching on Regina’s vicious, wildly hypocritical verbal assaults on Emma in 305 (or any other episode).
I hate how they’re taking characters who used to be awesome and stand up for themselves to Regina and turning them into complete morons possibly suffering from amnesia. It’s absolutely ruining the show for me. I’ve been more active on Tumblr lately because it’s just easier to express my frustration and disappointment there. I honestly don’t see the point in posting here anywhere outside this thread—I gave up on seeing any kind of reasonable debate a while ago—and this issue isn’t closely related to CS, so it doesn’t really belong here either, dragging everyone down with my negativity.
So yeah, there’s a lot I can put up with in regards to plot holes, major continuity issues, dropped storylines and characters, etc., but not destroying Snow’s, Henry’s, and Robin’s characters COMPLETELY, and Emma’s to some extent, to the point that they’re nearly unrecognizable. I had some brief hope that they were going to address the fact that Regina hasn’t actually changed when I saw that short interview with Lana from TVGuide saying that “the Evil Queen” would be in Storybrooke—but since we’ve seen photos from 412 filming it looks like that only lasted an episode or two. Between that and freaking Cruella coming to the show, I might give up entirely after this midseason finale. But then since I love Kristin Bauer, I might stick around for 4B while using the DVR to skip any Regina scenes. But if this horrendous whitewashing/widespread amnesia/woobification continues, I might just stop altogether. So yeah, that’s why I haven’t been posting here much and probably won’t be really active anymore in general.

I created this thread https://oncepodcast.com/forums/topic/why-i-cant-ship-outlawqueen/ because I find OutlawQueen to be morally wrong and just can’t ship it. Feel free to post there to vent your frustrations. OQ has destroyed Robin’s character and now Regina’s character is being dragged down too. And you are right about what you say about how the other characters.

Participant“woobification”
(laughing)
yup. Epona, I feel your pain! While I have adored Regina from day one, Evil Queen, not so evil (but close) Mayor Mills, and even struggling to find the goodness within herself, this tawdry Robin Hood fiasco is totally cheapening her. (Face it, morally destroying the character of a most beloved and noble literary icon as Robin Hood has brought a destructive pall over a portion of the show. His whiney poon hound routine is tasteless dreck.)
Colassal shame.

ParticipantI too feel your pain @epona_610. But if the bts spoilers are true, then Robin and family may not be around in SB much longer, which is a shame because I really like Sean . Yeah, the whole affair happening over Marian’s not-so-dead body is a little skeevey. Regina as a character is at her best when she’s got her b@#$%h on, and I really hope to see that back. “Woobification” EXCELLENT WORD for what’s going on!!!
On a brighter note, MORE CAPTAINSWAN!!!!
And Malificent!!! Don’t really care about Cruella (note to self, dig up childrens book and find out what the heck that’s all about) And um, Ursula?????? Really, Adam and Eddy? Like Malificent who is supposed to be the biggest badass in all of the fairytales wasn’t enough???
