Participant@obisgirl – I like that theory, but Rose hasn’t been filming lately has she? Or am I wrong? Yay! on getting TPB by the way! 🙂

ParticipantI think the cast is on Winter vacation, but I would be shocked if Rose isn’t back for the second half..

ParticipantYeah, I don’t know what’s up, but she hasn’t been seen at all as far as I know, although her love life is supposed to be explored isn’t it? Or at least Rose said she hoped it would. Neal hasn’t been seen filming current SB stuff either, so maybe he and Tink will team up and go do something? Or escape the new curse altogether? @MysteryKat25 would be happy with that anyway lol.
To be honest I’m more inclined to believe that Killian comes to the whole TL “revelation” himself mostly… Or maybe Charming AND Tink will nudge him in that direction. He’s believed in their love so far, is in it for the “long haul”, so he could actually just come to that conclusion on his own.
Is it March yet?

ParticipantJust by being around 300 years and being old school he would not easily set aside the familiar and the last bit of his old identity. Plus he has does some drastic changes of late… put aside his revenge, is letting Milah go, loving Emma… and it seems he quite drinking.
Good points! I also equate his pirate jacket specifically to his emotions. In Tallahassee he has it off the whole time while he’s with Emma, and you can see that he’s very Killian-Jones-ey rather than maintaining his Captain Hook façade. He wasn’t wearing it in the scene with Rumple’s cell either, where you could see his hurt pouring out of him. It’s only until the Lake Nostos
sexswordfight scene, that he’s actually wearing his coat again, and the sarcastic Captain Hook persona returns (“I may be a simple pirate but I know one thing – lakes have water”). We don’t see Killian with the leather jacket off again until 3×04, when he’s giving Emma a coconut (and Tink is there too watching them) that you can openly see the absolute adoration on his face. It’s a direct parallel to Emma, who, as has been confirmed, wears her red leather jacket as her emotional armour. Notice how she decided to put it on again in 3×10 after their return from Neverland, because
1) Henry was acting strangely
2) Killian was distancing himself from her
3) Neal had asked her out and she was very conflicted about it
so she obviously felt VERY emotionally vulnerable.
When it comes to the main characters, everything is deliberate down to a “T” lol.

Participantohhh… you are quite right… I never took that into account for Hook… I assumed a lot had to do with them needing to keep him in sleeves to hide Colin’s hand… like the bathrobe in the hospital.
They’re pretty good at hiding that even without the coat! Lol.
I think we eventually will see him with normal clothes but it most likely won’t be until he and Emma have exchanged “I love you’s” that that will happen. IMO 🙂

ParticipantSaw on this FB from Captain Swan Forever. They got this from : http://carrielynne.tumblr.com/
I just realized something. In the episode before the winter finale, Neal was looking for hope from Emma. Hope for their future in the form of a conversation over lunch. She didn’t show it. Her parents literally had to force her into going but that never wound up happening. (Yes I know, she wasn’t ready, yadda yadda yadda) — but the simple fact is, she didn’t go. She didn’t know her Dad was going to show up and make her, she made a choice to not go. Neal put a sense of finality on the situation. Meet me or I’ll never bug you again. She couldn’t bring herself to go and give him false hope of everything working out for them b/c she was concerned about Henry, she’s not ready to face that pain again, and she has a legit pull towards someone else. (And if she didn’t, she wouldn’t have said that Charming was “keeping her away” from Hook and she wouldn’t have gotten jealous over the Tink/Hook thing.)
So now in the winter finale she’s faced with being separated from Hook and she had a choice. Say something hopeful to him, give him everything she possibly could in that moment or cut him off right there so he doesn’t pine for her the rest of his life. She KNOWS he pines for her, it’s obvious to everyone around them and Regina told her he was, straight up. There was no reason to give him false hope of her feelings, especially in that moment. Especially when she knows the depths of his feelings for her.
So basically… when given the choice, lets lay this out simple:
-Give Neal hope, meet him for lunch or he never bugs you again:
=She doesn’t go.
-Give Hook hope, let him know you want to be in his thoughts every day or he disappears possibly forever without knowing how you feel:
=She tells him.
And this happens in back to back episodesTook the words from my mouth :))

ParticipantIn the second gif…….. SHE DOESN’T TURN AWAY UNTIL HE DOES I AM NOT OK I CAN’T BELIEVE I DIDN’T NOTICE BEFORE
[x] whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy why was I given emotions
I didn’t notice either! How telling, she’s always the first to pull away. Hopefully, once she remembers, what she’s feeling in this moment — and learns sometimes you just have to act on your feelings instead of build walls around them…she was soooo close to achieving this milestone before everything just imploded on her…
I am telling you I wish Hook would get some new clothes that black cape and outfit has kind of ran it’s course for me I don’t know about the rest of you shippers. I wonder if the guy playing Hook must be getting tired of them too surely. 😉
HAHA I hear you, it’s kinda starting to bug me. I mean, ok, maybe he can’t let go of his clothes or anything – I’m kind of inclined to think he just hasn’t had time for a shopping excursion, I can’t imagine they have a GAP or whatnot in Storybrooke – but seriously, he must have OTHER clothes on that boat! He’s been a pirate for 300 years and he’s only got one pair of pants?! Seriously, Wardrobe Dept!

ParticipantFrom: http://jewelleighanna.tumblr.com/post/66349323558/the-players-emma-hook-and-neal
The Players: Emma, Hook, and NealI’ve been thinking OUAT from a writing standpoint, and why I think, from a character perspective, Emma and Hook are endgame. I try not to think about “endgame” too much, because I will like the couple regardless. I don’t want to be “yes, they are endgame for sure!” but I can’t help but analyse the characters and guess where the story going to go
Writing a story is about the characters. In good writing, characters drive the plot and not the other way around.
As a writer, I like to think of my characters as little figures. Like doll-house figures that I can bring out and play with, move them around, and have them interact with each other.
Imagine this:
I have little figures. I have an Emma and a Hook, and I want them to be together. But Emma has a son named Henry, and of course, Henry has a father named Neal. But… I want Emma with Hook and not with Neal, so what can I do?
There’s easy options to take such as:
1. Neal not being part of their lives (IE season 1, but face it, he’s Bae and he has to be a player).
2. Neal dies (well, that happened for half an episode, but death is such a cope-out).
3. Neal and Emma not be interested in each other romantically.I think a lot of CS fans would have loved option number 3 (Neal haters might like number 2, but come on, that would flatline Rumple’s story too). Anyway, number 3, would just be a bad writing choice. It wouldn’t be USING Neal’s character for who he is.
Who is Neal? Emma’s first love.
So if I have a figure named Emma and I want her with Hook, but Emma has a son who has a father, which means Emma has a first love; therefore, I’m obligated to bring out Neal and use him for who is he and for the maximum drama possible.
Unfortunately this means a “Love Triangle.”
But to have Emma with Hook, the triangle has to happen. It’s who the characters are, and part of Emma is her past with Neal that she has to face.
If I have have a figure named Emma and I want her with Neal, and they have a son together… then where does Hook come into play? Sure I have this other figure named Hook, but what would be the purpose of having him be involved with Emma?
I could look at the other characters I’ve played with, other romantic couples. Snowing, Rumbelle, etc. They have faced obstacles that have kept them apart: curses, captures, false memories, separations, and more.
Then I look at Emma and Neal and judge all the obstacles they have: almost 12 years separation, betrayal, a son of whom they have to share custody with the evil queen, Neal’s almost-death, their son’s capture, and most of all… the personal issue of whether they can ever get past all the pain.
I’m looking at all that, and I think they have enough issues and plenty of drama before they can actually be together. They aren’t in any need for more drama, so bringing Hook into the mix and having him fall in love with Emma? That serves me no purpose. Really, it doesn’t. Unless, a double broken-hearted Hook is the idea, but what would that serve? To make him more evil? I don’t see that motivating him to be more evil though… just more depressed. A depressed Hook isn’t a fun Hook, so dragging him through that seems like a way to ruin his character.
So if I wanted Emma and Neal together, then I would let their own drama play itself out. I would take Hook and take him elsewhere. Maybe keep him more pirate-like, a morally gray villain, or maybe give him another love interest somewhere else. There is plenty of ways to take the character that could avoid a messy love triangle that only serves to leave him with a broken heart.
