I think what we’re going to get with that scene is love is strength. It makes sense now considering that the way learned magic from Rumple and from Cora, she was taught that love is weakness. But what if Regina uses the opposite with Emma? Instead, she teaches her that love is strength and that’s what helps Emma to embrace her magic and seriously, what better metaphor than use Hook as love, to help Emma realize her magic?.
what if the scene plays out like this:
It would seriously be amazing if the way Regina teaches Emma magic, she says, ‘Conjuring magic is not intellectual endeavor. It’s emotion. You must ask yourself, ‘why am I doing this? Who am I protecting?’ Feel it.” and she also says, “Magic, the kind of magic you are, is strength because love, true love is strength.” And the image of Hook coming to save her, is what gives Emma strength to help save herself.

Playing on what she said to Cora at the lake, and what Hook reminded her of at the docks, maybe it is Emma who actually teaches Regina that “love is strength” when she conjurs/imagines/magically visualizes just exactly who her heart really feels is her Knight in Shining Armor 🙂 ~ Of course it might be one of those vanishing scenes that are happening now between sneek peek and showtime! We have to be prepared for everything.

I agree with you @obisgirl. It maybe that Emma has to conjure an image to save her, maybe like Regina will conjure trolls and whatnot, and Emma has to conjure something that can defeat those and protect her. She then creates a knight in shinning armor and he defeats the trolls. After the fight, the knight then takes his visor off and BOOM! It’s Hook’s face. Emma would then realize that one of her strengths is Hook and her feelings for him.
So I have been wondering if I am just not recalling correctly. .. i didn’t think Emma told anyone about Neal sending her to jail. but in the diner leather conditioner eye liner scene hook didn’t seem surprised. Did I miss something or does Emma seriously confide in hook.

Hook knows that Neal left her before. I don’t think he knows the details of it, but Henry certainly knows because amnesia Emma told him. I don’t think Snow and Charming know about the jail thing.
I also think, when it comes to Emma, Hook is very perceptive. He knows Emma better than she knows herself.

Ok, so you got me thinking about this and I needed an answer….and went to chat. After a bit, I believe I can say the general consensus is that Snowing, Hook, Rumple & Henry, and maybe Regina, know some semblance of the story. Snowing must because of Snow’s comment about being cellmates in 3×13, Rumple I’m guessing because he’s the one that made the curse in the first place, Henry because of the memories…Regina…I dunno, she just seems to be omniscient! Couldn’t get a straight non-CS opinion in why Hook knows though.
So, CS-shipper goggles or not, my thoughts – most non-CS reason: she felt she had to give him some backstory for the ride up from NY to SB in case Henry brought it up. CS reason: she confides more in Hook than even some of us may have previously thought! Personally, I like my ‘CS’ reason. 🙂
Speaking of Hook and Henry and who knows what – I was rewatching the Captain Cobra scenes and one of the things I really liked the most was the fact that Henry pointed out he knows his mother isn’t telling him everything. And Hook’s response wasn’t to lie and say Emma’s not keeping anything from Henry; nor was it to tell Henry the truth, because it’s not his place to do so. I liked that it was reassurance that should there be things Emma is keeping from Henry, it’s only to keep him safe. Hook’s given this some thought, and in retrospect, realizes he should’ve handled Bae in a similar fashion. His relationship is truly about wanting to bond with Henry for Bae’s sake and not Emma’s. Haha, I also liked the fact that according to Henry, Emma always tries to pawn Henry off on people with boats. Oh, Ems. Really.
Umm- problem with the reason for Snowing knowing is floored though (I really dont think Snowing knows, as A&E said we’d see their reaction to him sending her there & we havent)- Snowing know she went to jail from the ‘sham’ election in S1, when Regina got Sydney to ‘dig up dirt’ on Emma- Remember he found out she went to prison, so they printed it in the paper. But they dont know “who” exactly sent her there as Emma hasnt said (as far as I recall).
I’m not sure Hook knows ‘exactly’ how Neal left Emma, he just knows he left her (unless Emma or Henry has told him, but I cant see post curse 2.0 Emma spilling the beans on that in a hurry, as she had no intention on telling Snowing about her ‘almost’ marriage).
My only concern with Emma conjuring knight Killian up for magical purposes, is I’m pretty sure Killy revealed himself as the knight, during a night scene… Or am I remembering it wrong? The only way I can think of it all fitting together is maybe Emma & Regina are stuck out there for literally hrs, while Emma is trying to learn magic Regina/Rumple’s way, it isnt going well & as darkness falls, Emma uses her love as strength- rather than hate/negative emotions & that’s how Snowing find out Henry thinks they are ‘boring’- because he’d rather stay with Killian until Emma returns, but Killian has something else he has to do & cant watch him until Emma is finished (maybe he Ariel has asked him to help again in SB & thats how he & WW end up meeting- or WW ‘stops by’ looking for Henry (to get to Regina) & thats how Hook meets her).

It looks like Emma will have to find a way to cross the bridge safely,witch could involve the help of a mysterious Knight in shining armour. We’ve already had several references to ‘The Princess Bride’ when it comes to Hook and Emma and from the TV promo , it looks like we could have another one, as the Knight dramatically reveals his true identity by removing his helmet – revealing not her father Charming, but her true love Killian Jones – the man of honour.
Looks like that post on tumblr I found, was actually correct.
