ParticipantYeah after looking over that article it does sound like it could have been written by any of us this week lol. I’m kind of reluctant to hang my hat on some of the claims but it’ll be great if they’re true.

Totally understandable. Especially given the fiasco that was the massive overhyping of 3×12. I love my ship and what we got but wish my expectations had been just a little bit lower to enjoy it more. Have a good feeling about this one but we’ll see!

I’m really excited for the episode but in terms of our ship just gonna temper my excitement a bit. I just can’t stop smiling at the fact that this episode has been hyped more than any other so far in this half. Especially since I got an anon on tumblr from someone who thought I was way off base with my claim that Hook was arguably the leading man on this show now. This was before 3×16 aired and a week later in Hook’s 2nd centric of the season there’s been so much extra promotion 🙂

ParticipantI was thinking it’d be neat if we get a Henry scene asking how Emma knows Killian- with him kind of fishing to find out if they dated or worked together or how they know each other/why he (Henry) gets left with Killian so often- I know it probably wont happen & all that stuff will be off camera (like so much seems to be), but I’m hoping we get something similar to it & that the whole Henry playing ‘match maker’ wasnt just for upping the impact stakes of Walsh being a flying monkey 😉
It’d be kind of nice to have Henry point out how Emma & Killian seem to ‘like’ each other or something….
Oh, Oh! It’d be even better if Henry asked Killian about it! LOL.
I’d LOVE to see that conversation go down Bahahahaha, especially as Henry could out right say ‘I know you like my mum, so did you guys date/ go out or something-where did you meet my mum?’ *snigger* wonder how Killy could possibly rephrase “while we meet in post apocalyptic EF, when your mum, Snow White, Aurora & Mulan uncovered me form underneath a pile of dead bodies, that your adopted granny killed (but dont worry about her, your bio Granny tricked your adopted Mum into killing her off), your mum called me a lair, tied me to a tree, demanded I tell her the truth- which I did, she was going to leave me for an ogre snack, but I convinced her I could help her find her way back to you- by climbing up a magic beanstalk, using magical cuffs & stealing a compass off of a giant with her” in “I didnt just escape the loony bin & havent been taking my ‘special’ pills recently” terms LOL 😉

ParticipantCan’t stand the idea that none of them can ever be happy now. It’s just way too depressing and goes against everything we’ve seen.
Agreed 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000% It really bugs me when I see posts saying that nobody can ever be happy again because of Neal’s death. Whilst I get that the ideal happy ending where everybody lives and plays happy families together isn’t going to happen. These characters can still be happy, they’ll always remember Neal but that doesn’t mean they have to be miserable forever and never be happy again. They can all still have their happy ending. Is it strange to want to see them plant a tree for Neal or something so that they can still have a symbol of Neal with them that they can look after and they can go talk to the Neal tree if they’re feeling down about something?
As for the OOC thing in regards to Neal’s death. If we had not seen Neal use Roland as bait for the shadow, I would agree that Neal’s actions in Quiet Minds were OOC. However since we did, and that whole event was played as in-character for Neal, then his actions in Quiet Minds weren’t completely OOC based on what we have seen of him previously.

ParticipantTo me, Neal was meant to embody desperation. A very unpopular thought, I know, which is why I only dare say it here. But even from the beginning – he was desperate to leave the EF because of what Rumple had become. He was desperate to get off the JR when he realized who Hook was. He was even desperate to do the right thing, which, in my opinion, it was so easy for August to persuade Neal that he needed to leave Emma. That desperation was his fatal flaw – it caused him to act before thinking. And it made him an easy target for people like August and Z to manipulate so they could achieve their own goals. And it makes Baelfire very much Rumple’s son – as we saw Rumple’s own desperation in becoming the Dark One in the first place.
PoM, I like that idea. I don’t want them to suddenly stop mentioning Neal like he never existed. But I think they’re going to keep Neal alive (in spirit – I don’t think we’ll be seeing Neal rising from the dead anytime) – primarily through Hook telling Henry about Bae…much to many fans’ chagrin, I’m sure. But developing Captain Cobra does a lot for the writers – it keeps Neal’s memory alive, it further displays Hook’s redemption and begins to show it more than him doing it for Emma. And it gives Henry an interesting foundation as he enters his teen years – how does his knowledge of what his father went through affect him? Will he be destined to follow his footsteps and unwittingly be manipulated into someone’s plan? Will he break the cycle?
I’m still not happy they killed Neal off – I would much rather have seen him not reduced to just a catalyst for the current Big Bad’s plans. But ultimately, if this story is anyone’s I actually think it’s Henry’s – and the death of his father is one of the most important things that will happen to him, and because it happened how it did, when it did, allows the writers to take a huge turn with Henry’s character, and set him up for some amazing, growing up storylines.
Anywho – does today feel like the longest day EVER for everyone else??? I cannot believe it’s not even noon my time. And my son ‘slept in’ (till 7am! – better than 5:30…) but even the extra sleep isn’t helping. It needs to be 8 hours from now.

Yes, I agree.

Yes. Adam and Eddie said earlier before the 3A began that they had a plan in place for Jared’s sudden growth spirt, and skipping ahead to one year in the winter finale and then also this, is part of that plan. And that makes me really excited going forward because we’re going to see Henry dealing with more adult situations and how he reacts to them. No more trying to destroy magic, or save magic or throw temper tantrums.
