At the very end of the episode, we see the clock’s minute hand move. I thought it struck 8:15. Others have said 8:16. Depending on what you saw, it can make a big difference to how you interpret the meaning of that shot. Does anyone have a screenshot to prove the actual time? What do you think the clock said? And what is the significance?
I’ve always thought that the clock stopped at 8:15 am. but here’s a screencap.
From our angle, it looks like it stops on 8:15. The fact the the minute-hand stops at a 0º angle also agrees with this. If it had stopped at 8:16, then the minute hand would be at a -6º angle.
Looking more closely, the hands of the clock are so close to the face, that angle has very little to do with it. The clock is definitely on 8:15.
At the very last frame of the clock, the minute hand is at the mark that is aligned with center “I” of the number 3 (“III”)
And honestly why would they have the minute hand point at 8:16?
I agree….8:15. But Colleen Roney was strongly arguing for 8:16 and attaching significance, just thought I would see how you all felt about it.
It is a good question. I don’t really think that the clock has any significance only that it is a LOST number and that is it.
Some are saying that the clock striking 8:15 means the town has come full circle. Possibly with magic coming they all lose their memories again except now Emma is the only one who knows and has to convince them all to remember … Not my theory, just onei have heard. Others have said that the clock struck 8:16, indicating a “new day” in Storybrooke..all things will be going in a whole new direction.
Yeah, I’ve seen that theory floating around, as well. Like the characters will regain have regained their FTL memories and lost their SB memories but are still in SB. Personally, I think the characters will have both sets of memories and will need to learn how to integrate them much like amnesiacs.
