It just occurred to me with the talk from Bobby about Rumple’s current state of mind (he’s selfish and he’s obsessed with magic), and he’s using other people to do his dirty work, what does that mean for the color of his heart?
I know Belle is Rumple’s moral center, she’s the one to keep him grounded on the side of good but this season, he’s been digging himself deeper with all these lies, manipulations and secret dealings with the Snow Queen, it makes me wonder what the color of his heart looks like now? Like is his heart part dark and bright red?
We already know that Emma comes to him, Gold’s going to manipulate the situation and try to trap her in the hat — which is a very unforgivable act in my mind — how can something like that not darken Gold’s heart?
[adrotate group="5"]I think Rumps heart is pitch black. With all the strides him made towards goodness previously, I think that if there is red part in there anywhere, its very small. But mostly dark. This season so far isn’t doing anything change that 🙁

S1 and S2 I’d say mostly dark but with specific areas of “red” where Belle and Nealfire reside.
S3A ends with a 50/50 split–sacrificial Rumple.
S3B up to 320 is stil 50/50.
320-Present day: black as sin, apparently!

I like Gaultheria’s theory.
I think that it’s still got that red bit where his love for Belle & Bae reside. That love is the bit that keeps him from succumbing entirely to the darkness and always has been.
But the black is definitely encroaching right now.

Okay, so I couldn’t resist. Blame me being a preschooler but Dr. Seuss is a go to for any and all subjects. Rumple is everyone else. Why not the Grinch, too. 😉

How do we know this that is what Rumple will try and do? Have I missed a spoiler or something?

Keeper of FelixThat summary doesn’t say Rumple tries to trap her in the hat. What if that is what Hook thinks is going on so he blurts out the stuff about the dagger trying to stop it when Rumple was just trying to help Emma? That would change the dynamic between Hook and Rumple because then Rumple has nothing to lose whilst Hook does.
