Hi all,
Having just joined, I wondered what are people’s ideas on why some of the characters from the Fairytale land (Enchanted Forest etc.) were left in this realm and not transported? 🙂

I don’t think he ever went back to Nova? Or Cinderella who lost her Thomas? Then, King George? (I guess Mulan, Aurora and Prince Philip could never count on their happy endings if they were left out in FTL)
Next, Rumple didn’t have a happy ending but he was promised to be included in the curse (Regina promised him to be reach in “that other land”). Mad Hatter, obviously, no happy endings there either, not only he lost his wife but also daughter – then again I imagine Regina would’ve brought him thinking he might be useful (and he remembered FTL only because he was dragged to SB from Wonderland, not FTL)December 2, 2012 at 6:31 am #163211nonnieParticipantI think it is more a matter of who EQ knew… she wanted to punish people but if she did not KNOW who you were and never met you they why would she bring you over. As for Aurora she was a sleep so she was already being punished. EQ may or may not have known about Phillip or Mulan but maybe she did not care enough to bring them over.
I think she used SB to punish those people who did her wrong. ie Hatter and Frankenstein who betrayed her and stopped her from bring Daniel back… Hansel and Gretel who rejected her offer to live with her. etc.
I think she also picked a land with no magic because she is punishing herself…. she could not control her addiction to magic so she picked a world with not magic….

Somewhere on this forum I read an interview with Parrilla about her own thoughts on why Regina would choose to come to a land witout magic. She thinks it is also because Regina is trying to escape, get away from magic, she never liked it from the beginning. In a conversation Regina has with Henry, she says that this world is the fairest of them all.
So she brought everyone she thought had done something unfair too her out of spite or revenge. Or whom had unfairly good chances in the magical lands. And, though we haven’t seen any, she probably also brought some of her fellow bad guys, that we saw around the fire giving strands of their hair. Because they wanted too come to a world where they would have better chances.

In the end she’s not her own mother who wants power at any cost – Regina is more about ‘happiness at any cost’ and whatever that means to her.
