I think that is true. The thing is that would mean that Tremaine is his daughter because they are really hinting that Tremaine is Rapunzel.
I haven’t thought that personally, though I know it’s a theory with a decent following. I think Rapunzel will be someone new who is yet to show up in HH, (or maybe she’s even still in another realm somewhere). Tremaine knew Gothel somehow (that’s who I’m assuming is chained up in the bad wig), maybe she went to her one time to ask her to lock up Cinderella or something. But I don’t think Tremaine is Rapunzel.
He might not be her bio dad but he might have gone out on a limb and taken Alice under his wing. He could have been especially lonely after sadly losing Belle and decided they were something like kindred spirits, two lonely people in need of family.
Which is the reverse of Bae and Hook in S2
Oh I know, I’m just suggesting that the writers were banking on that connection to make viewers (and probably even Rogers himself) come to that conclusion that Alice is Hook’s kid, but it’s actually a diversion for the real reveal. If so, then kudos to the writers for having been clever (#thingsIneverthoughtIdsayagain) in pulling off a bait and switch reveal.
It’s not like they haven’t done it before.
With the information that Eloise Gardner is the name of the missing person for whom Rogers is searching, I strongly suspect that Alice/Tilly is not the daughter of Wish Hook after all and that the chess board was indeed a red herring. Props to @Phee for calling it!

Good point! Let’s not forget the August-is-not-Baelfire period of S1.

I think Alice is a really odd character. I find her character interesting, but she is also kind of unlikable in the sense of the overacting and i just don’t want her to be part of the family and start babysitting Lucy.
