If there is already a post for this, my apologies, but I was re-watching the pilot with a friend and wondered what exactly Rumple meant when he said, “ Get the child to safety and on its… 28th birthday, the child will return, the child will find you, and the final battle will begin!” I realize this was in the context of breaking Regina’s curse, but is there more to this “final battle” that has yet to completely surface on the show? Thoughts?

I think so. I think the final battle is more of a final season thing though. So I think all of what we have seen is simply leading up to the final battle and it all started when Emma broke the curse which lead to all these events which will int turn leas into the final season which brings the final battle… If that makes sense 😛

Perhaps the final battle refers generically to the constant battle between good and evil, which we’ve seen play out repeatedly with the introduction of Cora, Peter Pan, Zelena, and now Ingrid.
