I buy blood feud between them, especially if the whole “they are brothers” theory pays off.
Re: GOAT. A and E have said at SDCC that those two don’t know who they are working for; they’re just mindless soldiers who do as they’re told so I doubt they are the the ones doing the informing. It feels like it should be the other way around. Someone is telling GOAT what to do and to take the boy.
As for Rumple in NL: yes that is present day. He’s wearing Rumple Dark One clothing, but has none of the greengold glitter, so he’s Mr. Gold in his Rumple wear. Bless.

I think he put himself back in that clothing to help him get back into the Dark One mindset. He believes he’s gotta be 100% Dark One to get the job done. If he’s gonna be interacting with Belle somehow in 302, that will likely keep his struggle between light and dark ongoing. A couple weeks ago I got this idea in my head that when the undoing happens, it would physically change Rumple as the Dark One is drawn out of his body. Now that we know he’s back in Dark One costume, I’m more convinced that at some point, we’re gonna see him go all sparkly in NL to complete the look.
Felix told Rumple that if he is looking the boy, then he will not survive. I wonder if the lost boys knew that Henry will be Rumple’s undoing. We know that Peter Pan and Rumple know each other and since Felix stated that Rumple won’t survive if he is looking for Henry, he could know that Henry is Rumple’s undoing. Either that or Felix is so confident that nobody stands a chance on getting Henry back.
Could be either, but I do suspect that they likely know all about the undoing prophecy.
Um, I couldn’t tell but does Gold no longer has his limp, I didn’t see a cane with him. It would make sense for him to get rid of it considering there on a muddy Island and having a limp would give him a physical disadvantage.
I reckon he’s been able to fix his limp ever since magic came back to SB. He could heal gunshot wounds and re-attach arms, so he could also have fixed his limp. But that limp was his constant reminder of his failings, and of what was motivating him to achieve his goal, so he wanted to keep it. Doesn’t need that reminder any more when he’s immersed in NL though. And he needs to be operating at full physical power. So the limp is now gone.
August 15, 2013 at 1:17 am #204996PheeParticipantJust came across a post on tumblr about Rumple’s similarities to Ben on LOST, and it mentions the doll that Ben was given as a child:
Looking at the screencap of Ben’s doll, I noticed that not only it is a similar, rustic style, it’s also the same colours as Rumple’s doll, so perhaps the doll’s colour is just a little Easter Egg?For a better pic of Ben’s doll: http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Annie
Unlike Roger, Annie remembered Ben’s birthday, and presented him with a pair of carved wooden dolls, designed to represent herself and Ben. She gave the girl to Ben and kept the boy, telling Ben that because they each had the other’s doll, they would never have to be apart from each other. The doll was a significant gift for Ben, and he kept it with him throughout his adult life. When Richard sees Ben with the doll and asks what it is, he says simply that it was a birthday present.
$10 says that Rumple’s doll was half of a pair.
I’m gonna go with his father having made them each one, and he gave Rumple the same story Annie gave Ben, about them always being together because each had the other’s doll. His father did this because he knew people were after him, and something might happen to him. That did end up happening, and Rumple clung onto the doll of his father, even when he went to NL, where he either lost it, or PP took it away from him.

"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"August 15, 2013 at 8:12 am #205026kfchimeraParticipantThat doll pair works too, if Rumple made a set of dolls for Bae following Milah’s “death” by pirates when Bae was 5. They cut that and the Rumpel dad scene, so it is possible for them to “redo” either one, where Rumple gets left or where Bae is grieving a parent.

August 15, 2013 at 9:02 am #205033rumbelledearieParticipantI’m really wondering how PP would kill Rumple. Both Rumple and Felix admitted that he would die should they fight, but only the dagger can kill him, and as far as we know the dagger is still in SB. Obviously they’re not going to kill Rumple off the show, but everyone from NL certainly thinks he will die against PP.
I really can’t wait for the backstory between Rumple and PP, I want to know what that doll is and what other way Pan can kill the Dark One. This season’s going to be so good!
August 15, 2013 at 9:39 am #205035kfchimeraParticipantMaybe it is like a LOTR thing–one dagger to rule them all! I think in that case, PP is like another Dark One, and they may just be quite evenly matched, both immortal, and neither can die unless stabbed with the respective daggers. This reminds me of something so I’m going to make another thread on it.

I don’t think that this is in present day NL. Why? A few reasons. First off Rumple doesn’t have his outfit in modern times. Also no cane, no limp. And his attitude is much more pre-curse Rumple than Mr. Gold. And there is no way the gang would just let him go by himself.
But then why would Rumple be in NL pre-curse, why is no glittery, and what are they talking about? Easy, remember magic is different in all the realms, and most people are predicting that Gold will go full out Green scaled Rumple in NL. But what if the exact opposite could happen? Instead of staying green and glittery what if when Rumple entered NL he turned back into a man, just with his dark one powers. We know the Blue Fairy said that his powers weren’t from the EF so what if NL was the source of the powers and therefore Rumple looked like a real man. Rumple would still be looking for Bae, who would be in NL. Pan could still have Bae and Rumple just went there to get him. We know Rumple and PP have a history, and that Pan is going to be Rumple’s downfall (PP is probably the boy the Seer was referring to) so Rumple could have left NL. I’m guessing the boy is Bae, and PP doesn’t want to let Bae go. Rumple had to leave to save himself, and well Hook was there too. It is curious that Hook went to NL unless he knew that Rumple has been there or will travel back there, and Bae found himself there too, which leads me to the final thing.
And the doll. We know Rumple had to be in NL before, cause he clearly knew PP and Felix. (Maybe that is why Hook thought to go to NL. If this scene occurred after Manhattan but before the events in the Crocodile then maybe Hook knew Rumple was just in NL. But then we r messing with the t word). Anyway the doll could have been Rumple’s or Bae’s. But it is doubtful that it is Bae’s cause we would have seen it since he was at the Darlings for six months and Bae would need both when he went through the portal and when the shadow got him. So it must be Rumples. So Rumple must have a history in NL.

August 15, 2013 at 2:19 pm #205072RumplesGirlKeymasterBut he doesn’t have his greengold skin and that began to happen as soon as he became the Dark One. Now that he has no qualms about using magic for his own purpose, he could easily heal his limp, plus he’s smart enough to know that walking around in a jungle with a cane is going to hinder his plans. Also, we know from another interview which asked him about his modern day Gold suits that in 301, at the beginning, that would be addressed, that Rumple was “below deck” messing with things dealing with clothing. And, perhaps most importantly, no one tells Rumple what to do. If the rest of the group says he can’t go off by himself, Rumple will giggle and go anyway. It’s a flaw of him, but it’s Rumple. Plus, we know from SDCC and D23 that Rumple has his own plan, he’s not interested in working with the group.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"August 15, 2013 at 3:16 pm #205080RumplesGirlKeymasterI *believe* it’s over in the Comic Con thread, toward the end. Look for the comments that start talking about Rumple sewing or making clothes if you’re interested.
