I know there aren’t many spoilers being released about this one. Honestly, it’s kind of depressing because to me, the silence coming from the top (@Onceabc and Adam Horowitz) really feels like a lack of excitement. I know that’s probably not the case, but I think that feeling has trickled downward to the viewership because this board is too quiet. It’s bad for morale. In times past, this board has bustled with activity the weekend before a new episode. It’s not doing that today. The hiatus is over on Sunday, but you’d never know that. The board’s not “dead”, but it is slow. Why aren’t we more excited? Where’s all of the conversation?
[adrotate group="5"]April 19, 2013 at 6:58 pm #187208angiebelleParticipantI’m extremely excited! I’ve been waiting for this episode before I even knew the specifics- pretty much since Belle lost her memories back in December!
I think there just hasn’t been a lot new to say since we have been waiting for so long. We did get those great Emilie de Ravin interviews the other day though.
April 19, 2013 at 7:12 pm #187215RumplesGirlKeymasterReally? I don’t see that at all. Maybe it’s because I’m a moderator and I am on these forums literally from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed, but a lot is still happening. People are still posting spoiler pics for episodes 19-22, promos, artwork, videos, ect. Articles with interviews are posted, TV interviews are being uploaded and commented upon. Voting competitions, reactions to old episodes, characters, ect. And if it is a littler slower than normal right now, it’s because we don’t ahve a lot to work it. It’s the end of the season and they’ve stopped fliming. Now we just sit back and wait for new episodes. But there is still a lot happening on these forums!
As far as Adam goes, he is under no legal obligation to talk to us or spoil us. The fact that he even reaches out speaks volumes as to how much he loves this show. Let’s not forget, he’s a SUPER busy man. He’s running this show and trying to get another show off the ground. He’s entitled to a small break too.
The @ONCEABC has never been spectacular and releasing information and hyping up the show, but they do their best."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"April 19, 2013 at 7:20 pm #187216SnickerdoodleParticipantI have been quieter this year overall. It is hard to be super-excited after all the breaks. I am eager for the weekend, but three (technically four) more episodes and we are on hiatus AGAIN! This time for the summer. Too many breaks. They either need to make more episodes or time it differently. I don’t remember it being like this last year. I understand that is why they are taping Once Wonderland though, to fill in some of the hiatus time with some “Once” time in another land. Hope that works.
“When the cats away the mice do play” and people drift away from their favorite show to fill time, and sometimes they find other things to watch that capture their attention and don’t take so much time off between episodes. I haven’t done that, but I would say by the ratings drop some have. Although, I will say, overall the ratings seem to be down on all the network channels, which either means people aren’t watching or cable shows like Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, etc… have taken viewers away. I don’t know what is opposite “Once” on cable.

The @ONCEABC has never been spectacular and releasing information and hyping up the show, but they do their best.Well, there is some good news. My question got us talking! 😆
Seriously though, I realize they’re under no legal obligation to release anything. There’s an old saying: “Just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should”. I think the flip-side of that coin is also true. “Just because you don’t have to do something, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t”. Is it really advantageously gainful toward the purpose of garnering excitement for a product, for it’s producer to not market it? I’m not going to give an opinion to that end, but I do think it’s a thought worth pondering.

Well, there hasn’t been a lack of talking. Goodness, wait until the summer. You wanna see dead? 😆 The Lacey sneak peek thread is up to page 21, there is a spoiler page in episode 22 that is on it’s 101 page (and a lot of that is theorizing about the show in general, not just episode 22).

But he does. He tweets reminders about episodes and he answers questions all the time. Even answering the trolls of Twitter who want him to know exactly why they are so displeased. He’s been doing that all season. He gets a break. And he does more for the fandom than I’ve ever seen a show runner do, just by giving us anyhting at all, in my opinion.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"April 19, 2013 at 7:43 pm #187224lilysmomParticipantSo excited the hiatus is over!!! 😀
April 19, 2013 at 7:47 pm #187225sarah_tnParticipantI’m excited it’s over, too!
RumplesGirl: Fair enough. I wonder if lack of activity is just my own perception because of the lack of spoilers, clips, or details about Captain Hook? He’s my favorite, and I am pretty disappointed that nothing’s being discussed about him. So to be fair, I might be mistaken.
April 19, 2013 at 7:47 pm #187226angiebelleParticipantYes, I think Adam has been great about being present with the fandom! I think it’s amazing that people involved in the show actually know of and use fanspeak slang like RumBelle and Nealfire. 🙂
And yes- the episode 19 threads have been absolutely bustling lately- although today has been a bit quiet so far.
I find that summer hiatuses are easier to tolerate than the mid season ones because the show is bookended for the moment so we aren’t on quite such an edge with what is going to happen next.
For the passed few months, my level of obsession with this show has become almost embarrassing. I refresh the forums and Twitter constantly.
