A lot of people only react after the show airs, and want to stay fresh until then, with no spoilers. There are also likely people who participate solely by reading, perhaps reacting elsewhere or not. Chatter on the forums is only one measure of “fan enthusiasm” really, so while it’s less fun for those of us who check in frequently to not see a lot of new conversation, we kind of should expect it would not be so active during hiatuses.

Personally for me, although I have not missed an episode this season, (and frankly would not, as long as I can help it,) it has not been the same as first season. I’m not saying that’s bad, it’s just a different tension. Questions raised have been answered faster, and so there are not as many puzzle pieces as there were in the first season.

We kind of found the framework for the puzzle, if you will, when Emma broke the curse with true love’s kiss. So now we have been finding the pieces that have common colors or design and have started filling in the puzzle. We have a little bit better idea of how the pieces are fitting and so it’s a different feel than last season when we didn’t even have a framework for the show.

One big piece for me this season was finding out Emma has her own magic made of true love, and that Cora could not take her heart because of it. I wonder exactly how this is going to pan out for her. In the end, I believe she will truly be the savior in a way Rumple did not plan, and so I am interested to see where her path leads and it keeps me watching.

But I have had to learn to be interested in a different way this season than last. Still a great, mostly clean, family show. Enjoy when they throw things in I am not expecting, like Cora removing her own heart, and Cora’s response when Regina put in back in. I am a huge spoiler fan, so I also know a lot going into each show, and wait for the surprises. What did they keep me from finding out? What they keep from me are always the best parts most times. But sometimes, I am not as excited as they seem to express I would or should be. But overall still the show I don’t want to miss each week, along with this podcast, and the one I most enjoy watching with the whole family.

I’m excited but the hiatus isn’t -really- over. Also, the sad thing is that we get a month of episodes, regular shots of our drug, and then they pull the plug for the whole summer at least. So part of me fears the end of hiatus.

Yeah, the hiatus isn’t over until Lacey airs, and then we soon have an even longer hiatus shortly after, (though hopefully Wonderland will make that more bearable). Fandom is an emotional rollercoaster.

Also, I agree with RumplesGirl in not thinking the forum has been dull. But then, I spend most of my time in the spoiler section, which has been jumping lately. When there’s a thread that’s at more than 100 pages, several others that are around 30 pages, plus a bunch of shorter threads of varying lengths as well, and that’s all in forums for 4 episodes that haven’t even aired yet, I don’t see how anyone can think that there’s no excitement for the remainder of the season.

I’m super excited!! And guess what? Even though I do frequent this site and others, I still have NO idea what’s going to happen!!! HAHAHA! SPOILER FREE!!! Although I probably shouldn’t brag, I’ll probably stumble across something now. 😉 Even what few tiny tidbits I’ve seen, all it has done is make me go crazy wanting to see more of what actually happens. So I’m truly psyched.

This year is way different for me than last because last year I didn’t take part in any of the online fandom. I don’t even know why, because I was obsessed with the show and I’ve gotten into other fandoms before. I just never did until this season. 😀

I’m so excited! I haven’t been on here in the past few days because of everything going on in our country. Perhaps this is why some people haven’t been on either. I’m very active on twitter in the political /etc arena with blogging so I just have been preoccupied following the events.
But I am so excited for Sunday! Woohoo
