This is the first chapter to my first fanfic, which is of course Hookriel based 😀

*sits on life raft attached to Hookriel ship*

    Hello shipmates.

They’ve put out a casting call for Prince Eric. The Storyrbook mirror is doing a lot of speculating about what this means specifically that Ariel can’t end up with Hook because A and E won’t stray from TLM lore, whatever that means and I felt like I had to come swim over here and *sigh*

I got way too invested in this ship.

In the stories it always looks bad before there is good news! (I think I butchered that quote)

There is speculation everywhere. Hookriel has always been an outside crazy thing, so who knows. For me I liked the idea of pirate/mermaid and explorers, of tying Ariel into the main cast as was done for Belle rather than her being this season’s Aurora or Mulan or S1’s Cinderella.

Hookriel is not going to be the media guess, and if they hinted at it would kill the twist of it. People immediately jumped to the idea that Disney won’t mess with the story, even though A&E are not yet quoted as saying that. It is a little less likely than if they did not cast Eric or he were just a one-off but let’s just paddle along in the life raft.

“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass

*sits next to RG and waiting for Phee to show up*

Our crackship is cracking and sinking.  I had high hopes that Adam and Eddy had the balls the guts to follow in the tradition of Anderson’s ending.  Looks like the power of Disney is too hard to buck.  This is a sad day in the Hookriel ship.

*passes Jo the rum and waits for Phee*

    I have sad.

See, this ship got me all excited for Hook. Up until now I haven’t really been open to Hook as anything more than a pirate who shot Belle and therefore had to die. But then Phee got me here and I’m all HOOKRIEL MUST HAPPEN.

*takes a swig and passes back the bottle*

Ditto, RG.  I’ve never been a Hook fan, but the thought of him with Ariel was interesting.  I’ve never been an Eric fan, either, and thought it would be fascinating if they took The Little Mermaid tale and reflected back on original–with a twist.

You do realize, RG, with Phee on the other side of the globe there might not be anything left in the bottle for her by the time she gets in the boat.  😉

I was going to be ok sitting through CSF because I was sure they’d do Hookriel and now I don’t know. I thought I knew how CSF would end up but now I’m nervous.

Yes, yes.  I admit that was the biggest appeal of Hookriel to me…the fact that Hook was away from Emma so she could get back together with Neal.  There are three things I’ll do till the end up the series and never give up on:  hope Belle finds a little happiness with Rumple without getting kidnapped again, think the BF is evil until the finale, and ship SwanFire with nary a swerve in my convictions.

I’ll always ship SwanFire, and if it doesn’t happen then there’s fanfiction, but I was kind of hoping to actually like Hook eventually.  Maybe it can still happen.

I always said I was a SwanFire with CapatainSwan sympathies and then I started thinking a lot about Hookriel and then I was like, I’m not liking CS at all anymore.

    Hold faith y’all.
