I agree that Hook wouldn’t want to settle down which is why CaptainSwan can’t be endgame, they both want different things in life. Major things like that can break relationships if the two people want different things.
Milah was fine with leaving Bae, Emma would never do that to Henry.
Hook needs someone who has the sea in her bones!

Hook would never be happy living on dry land, stuck in one place. Emma’s been forced to move around her whole life and would crave a stable home, with her family close by, to catch up on all their lost time. Even if Emma did wanna go off sailing, there’s the practicality of Henry to consider. You reckon Regina’s gonna let them sail off with him to God knows where for God knows how long? Hell no. You reckon Emma’s gonna sail off to God knows where for God knows how long without Henry? Hell no. And as fun as playing pirate would be, Henry wouldn’t wanna be away from any of his family for God knows how long. And Hook’s already been involved with breaking up a family by sailing away with a kid’s mother, and to this day he regrets the hurt that caused Bae, so I can’t see him doing the same thing all over again. So, yeah, I just don’t see a CS endgame working, purely from a logistical standpoint. I think if it were to happen, it’d mean Hook having to give up the sea, and that’d make me sad for him, because the sea is in his blood.
But if he ends up with Ariel, he can live ON the sea, with a woman who was born OF the sea. That’s a double WIN, right there.
If Eric ends up with Regina then Ariel would be available

And just because K&H mentioned there’ll be nods to the Disney version, that doesn’t mean there won’t be nods to the Anderson version as well.
