There wasn’t really a place to put this but…

I noticed that Arthur called his wife the most beautiful creature in all Camelot.

That…..doesn’t sound very flattering. WHAT IF….Gwen…is some kind of evil creature as well. Obviously not a fury but still. Did anyone else find that odd? I am guessing perhaps that she is the source of Arthur’s shadiness….

It seems like such an odd thing to call someone, especially your wife. No way the writes just wrote that as a term of endearment, right?

I don’t know about a creature, but there is something off about Guinevere. She seems rather interested in Camelot, but I can’t tell yet if that’s because she is after it/its power herself or because she wants to use it for the right, if extreme reasons, like ruling Camelot forever.

There’s something off about Arthur and Guinevere altogether, though. Where’s the “you cheated on me with my best friend and truest knight” angst?

Lol, yeah, I did notice that at the time but I forgot. Thanks for pointing it out! 😀

THIS. It had better be that Arthur put her under some sorta love spell to get her back so she’s oblivious to the fact she even had an affair. I could deal with that far better than if they’re just ignoring the fact that things between them should be strained since the guy she had an affair with got excommunicated from the kingdom and all, so some crap obviously went down, but they’re not even hinting at it having happened.

As for him calling her a “beautiful creature”, I didn’t think anything of it. It’s a term of endearment that sort of elevates a person to being more special than all the other people.

    Yeah, that.

From Lady of the Lake (2×3)

Charming: Must be a curious tale.
    Lancelot: What?
Charming: Well, how a knight of the round table ended up a sword for hire.
Lancelot: You mean how did I fall from grace? The same way you ended up running from King George…A woman.

Are the writers simply going to ignore Lancelot’s fall from grace because of a woman, presumably Guinevere?

The writers believe the majority of the audience has amnesia and can’t remember season’s past.

They may or may not be right.

I don’t think they’re going to ignore Lancelot and Guinevere’s affair.

Back when they gave out the casting calls for Arthur, Guinevere and Merlin this past Summer; the casting calls actually brought up Quinevere’s past with Lancelot. Not to mention we know that Lancelot is appearing in more episodes this Season.

Arthur said they’d been waiting about a decade for the heroes to come save Merlin (plus 28 years since time was frozen for them, too, I assume). That means that the affair could have happened anywhere from 10-5 years ago in “living” time, and still allow Lance to help out the Charmings three years before the Curse (which we are now about 2 years past in show time, give or take a few months as it suits A&E).

If the affair has already happened, would Arthur still be in good terms with Lancelot after what he did?

No, that’s why Lancelot was roaming around FTL back when we first saw him, because he’d been cast out of Camelot after the affair.
