KeymasterHenry was chosen to be the new Author. Congrats to everyone (like, everyone!) who called it. After breaking the quill, is Henry still the new author? If not, how does that change the Onciverse? Does this mean that Henry has magic?

ParticipantI’d guess Henry does have a form of magic now…I’m just glad he’s got a bigger role.

ParticipantHe’s the Author, with or without the quill. Isaac didn’t have one for years when he was trapped in the book.
But it’s not like he has any special powers, though.

Can he do anything as the new Author without the quill? is it just an empty title now?

He can do…. the magic writing thing, maybe? You know, how Isaac didn’t have to touch the paper, just wave the quill in midair?
But other than that, probably not. The Authors’ only real power is using the quill and ink to change reality, and they’re never even supposed to use it.

ParticipantI liked the parallel with Harry Potter and Henry. Spoilers for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, for those who wish to read:
When Harry found out he was the master of the Elder Wand, he decided the best thing to do was to get rid of it by putting it back in Dumbledore’s grave, not wanting to be tempted. Henry did the same thing by wanting to destroy the Quill to not be tempted by the ultimate power of it.
I thought it was a cool parallel between The Chosen One and The Truest Believer.
Keeper of Thor’s Hammer, Will Scarlet’s Genie Bottle, Emma’s Gun, Emma and Henry’s Moment at the Castle, Cora, and the infamous Family Tree!

ParticipantAnyone find it odd that the Sorcerer and the apprentice were looking for someone to destroy the quill the whole time…Why not snap the quill themselves?

ParticipantDunno that he can still be an Author without a quill. What I take from it is that Henry has the ability to wield magic, so we could see him do that again in some other form at some point.

Isaac could travel between realms somehow. This is a great power. I wonder if Henry will have this ability? Could he take them all back to the Enchanted Forest?
Will he himself have to travel to EF, Wonderland, Scary Black and White land, Oz, etc to record their stories?

I think Isaac wrote himself to other realms. If true, Henry is unable to do that since he snapped the Quill.
