I posted it in another thread but I’ll post this theory here too…
Ok there’s some pieces I can’t quite put together so I’m just gonna lay them out and hope for some good ideas as to how they fit together. I think the connection that Henry and Aurora are seeing each other is a pretty safe assumption to make. In the dream a room is mentioned with red curtains but now windows or doors. So some how across these two worlds there’s a kind of connection being made. There’s only one place i’ve seen a place that is a link between worlds and has these red curtains. That’s the room Jefferson’s hat takes them too when they’re going between worlds. As to where the doors are maybe since it’s just a dream there are none since there’s no way to physically travel between worlds like that? Or maybe the curse destroyed the doors with those other worlds only leaving the EF which is why there’s fire? I may be completely off but I think that those dreams and that room the hat takes you too are the same room.
[adrotate group="5"]November 6, 2012 at 2:39 pm #159783RumplesGirlKeymasterAfter the description of the room, I tried to recall a fairy tale with a red room on fire, or something similar and I can’t think of any FAIRY TALE that meets that criteria. There are a few other other tales that sound similar: Poe’s Masque of the Red Death and if anyone out there ever saw the show “Twin Peaks” the “red room” is a reoccurring motif which is described as a kind of waiting room before going to another realm (land). I’m not sure if the writers are drawing on either of those for this nightmare.
The fact that the room has no windows or doors seems to suggest that you can’t get there except through the sleeping curse, no portal, no doorway, no bean could take you there. If it was a world-between-worlds, you’d have to be able to leave and its like those old riddles “a room with no doors or windows, how do you get in and out?”"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"November 7, 2012 at 5:45 pm #159925obisgirlParticipant@NONNIE wrote:
THE NIGHTMARE;
Aurora and Henry both descibe the same nightmare…. sounds like a prison room in WONDERLAND where the QofH / CORA has them captured. Are they sensing each other?
I didn’t think about that at first but it make sense.

Does anyone think Regina knows about the nightmare being a side effect of the sleeping curse? It’s not likely she and Snow ever sat down and discussed Snow’s experience. When Regina finds that her poisoned turnover has given Henry persistent bad dreams, how will she handle the guilt? Will it motivate her to help bring back Emma and Snow?
I don’t think that she knew about that side affect. It might motivate her to help bring Snow and Emma back.

Is it possible that the dream/premonition is something that only affects people who’ve had the sleeping curse (Aurora, Henry and Snow)? I’d be curious to know if Snow has the same dream.
I don’t think Snow had the same dream but I believe that that she had bad dreams after her sleeping curse.
November 7, 2012 at 7:50 pm #159949PriceofMagicParticipantCould Maleficent’s death have anything to do with the nightmare? She was alived when Henry and Aurora were cursed but dead when they were awoken.
All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of FelixNovember 8, 2012 at 12:39 am #159977nonnieParticipantI AM thinking that in order to communicate via the nightmare …. several people have to be afflicted in order for the communication to occur. Snow’s nightmares might not have been the same as she had other worries…. THE CURSE being activated. Snow also did not have a night mare partner… She was the only one who had been put to sleep at the time.
Henry and Aurora were asleep in the same time frames. I also think that there is some kind of mystical attraction between FTL-EF characters and SB characters. (This theory is not quiet ready for discussion in depth… one day I will flush it out and post it.) I think that is why Henry and Aurora connect through the nightmare.

A room with no windows AND CURTAINS makes me think of the Wizard of Oz. this is another big Lost reference: THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAINS. The fire even fits in this scenario too (which might explain the red color). Dorothy and the gang were terrified by the Wizard’s display of pyrotechnics and smoke. The red color doesn’t fit as well into my theory. Wizard of Oz stuff would most likely be green (emerald city). Red makes me think more of the Queen of hearts.
AND, let’s not forget that the Wizard from the Wizard of Oz originally comes from our world. He came to Oz in a hot air balloon.
The Oz hints have been adding up since season one. I think the Ruby Slippers could be in August’s box. I think Neal is definitely from another magical world, possibly Oz. Neal believed August too easily for him to be from our world. His reaction wasn’t dramatic enough. Maybe he’s Bae, but that’s too easy. The writers want us to think he’s Bae just like they wanted us to think August was Bae.
my theories biggest problem is the timing. Neal would probably have to be older to be the wizard. but who knows? Captain hook is a young hunk, why not the Wizard?

It’s common in fantasy and science-fiction shows to use dreams are previews of upcoming events. I think this is the case with the nightmare: a flashforward to something that will happen. As soon as Aurora described it, and Snow said it was just a dream, I knew there would be more to it.
I agree with you that it probably is a room that connects between worlds. Not the room from Jefferson’s hat (which was round) but another similar room – this one square or rectangular, since there are corners. Not all portals are doors, as we’ve seen with the mirror Cora was pushed through. The drapes would be to cover the different portals, since there are no doors or windows.
My thinking is that David managed to build a portal. He told Henry to stay behind, but of course, Henry did not listen. The fire would have been started by Cora, but leave the princesses stranded in Enchanted Forrest.
I know there are probably problems with my theory, but I look forward to others building on it or criticizing it to make it stronger.
